Chuck Grassley Ties Boston Bombings To Immigration Reform

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), speaking at the first Judiciary Committee hearing on immigration reform Friday, tied the issue to bombings this week in Boston that were allegedly perpetrated by immigrants who had reportedly lived in the United States for years.

"Given the events of this week, it’s important for us to understand the gaps and loopholes in our immigration system," he said. "While we don’t yet know the immigration status of the people who have terrorized the communities in Massachusetts, when we find out, it will help shed light on the weaknesses of our system."

Why jump to this at the same time he's saying "we don't know"? Oh yeah, he's a pub and never lets a tragedy go to waste. (It was reported earlier that they are citizens but even if their not, they've been in this country so long that they might as well be. As was also reported, "someone radicalized them" and we don't know the facts behind that yet. Edited to add - it has also been widely reported that they entered this country legally.)

And of course, as we all know, we have never had an American-born nutter go off on a mass killing. Except for the hundreds that Grassley doesn't know about.
