DENVER - An intruder who forced his way into the mountain home of a Colorado deputy district attorney was shot dead by either the prosecutor or her police officer husband, authorities said on Tuesday.
The shooting, shortly before midnight Monday, comes two weeks after Colorado's prisons director was slain as he answered the front door to his home, and two days after the district attorney of Kaufman County in Texas was found shot to death with his wife.

This is why gun control will never work.

The people in question would not have had an issue with owning weapons, as they are employed by the government, and we all know that they would and are exempt from any law that is applied to the rest of the masses.

Lordy, lordy, another one of your sort takes on a couple of people in law enforcement and loses. Bet they didn't use military style weapons. Probably did the miscreant in with a standard police issue pistol, without an extended magazine.

The type of laws that Colorado and Conneticut have passed would not effect a single one of the guns I own. And they are more than adaquete for self defense.
