A clinton voter. Naive, gullible, and an ignorant puppet, started this thread.

What else needs to be said?

So step up and defend Trump's attempt at publicly intimidating retailers and companies into doing business with his kids.
Or if you think it's good that consumers take exception to the Trumps using their public office to influence business for themselves.
/---- But it was perfectly OK when Democrat Icon President Harry Truman did the same thing to a reporter: “Someday I hope to meet you. When that happens you’ll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes, and perhaps a supporter below! … A guttersnipe is a gentleman alongside you! …”

But why was Harry Truman tolerated when he wrote those exact words on White House stationery addressed to a reporter in December 1950?

And what was the offense that threw the president into uncontrolled rage? An entertainment reporter gave a bad review to Truman’s adult daughter after her Washington vocal concert.

No Trump is not a Truman. Truman defending his daughter's singing at a concert. Trump is promoting his daughter's business, and implying that a business decision is being used to hurt his daughter.

Nordstrom didn't attack Ivanka Trump. They merely stopped carrying her line of apparel because it isn't selling. She doesnt design the clothes and they're manufactured off-shore. It's very pricey, and not of particularly high quality or all that stylish. For the same money, I can buy Jones of New York, Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren and get better quality, workmanship and style.

But what Trump and members of his Administration is doing, is patently illegal:

§ 2635.702 Use of public office for private gain.

An employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity, including nonprofit organizations of which the employee is an officer or member, and persons with whom theemployee has or seeks employment or business relations. The specific prohibitions set forth in paragraphs (a) through (d) of this section apply this general standard, but are not intended to be exclusive or to limit the application of this section.

(a) Inducement or coercion of benefits. An employee shall not use or permit the use of his Government position or title or any authority associated with his public office in a manner that is intended to coerce or induce another person, including a subordinate, to provide any benefit, financial or otherwise, to himself or to friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity.

Kelly Ann Conway was on FOX News last night telling everyone to buy Ivanka's clothing line. This is totally in violation of the rules.

That's no defense of Conway. She clearly broke the law.

I have to assume that Trump feels that it is in the nation's best interest that his daughter's clothes, manufactured in Mexico, are successfully sold by an American company, or else the people should be made aware of that company's not acting in the best interest of the nation. After all, Trump is all about jobs, and a lot of Mexicans could be out of work if her clothing line failed.

That's not an answer, that's just a personal attack. you either think its ok or you don't, you either have a reason for why you think that way or you don't that's how we learn, by exchange of ideas.
