If you look at commonly held belifs in the black community you have to wonder what planet these people are on.
-Trayvon Martin was an innocent gunned down by a racist cop wannabe. The racist cops at the scene failed to arrest Zimmerman because they were racists.
Fact: Martin ambushed Zimmerman and was about to take his gun and shoot him. There is no evidence Zimmerman is a racist and lots of contrary evidence. Cops let him go because it was obviously self defense. The prosecutor had to bypass the grand jury to bring an indictment because the evidence was overwhelming Zimmerman acted correctly.
-Michael Brown was gunned down by a racist cop.
Fact: Brown had committed a felony and when confronted by the cops went into a rage and attacked the offficer, grabbing for his gun. Three autopsies proved the officer's account fo the incident were accurate while those of black witnesses were lies.
-The biggest threat to young black men is cops randomly shooting them.
Fact: The biggest threat to young black men is other young black men. The young black men getting shot overwhelmingly are criminals, all of whose previous victims were other black peole. Why the black community is celebrating victimizers of their own people is the topic of ths thread.
-Barack Obama represents a triumph of the black community.
Fact: Obama is black in skin color alone. He was born to a white mother, raised by her and her white parents. Surrounded as a child by white friends, except when he was inIndonesia, where he was surrounded by more non-black friends. His administration's policies have resulted in higher black unemployment, lower black wages, and lower black household income than the day Bush left office.
-Black face systemic racism in education and economic matters.
Fact: No one is more privileged in those areas than blacks. Blacks achieving lower levels of test scores and GPAs get preference above higher scoring whites and Asians. Blacks get preferences in hiring and gov't contracts. Black sub par performance has more to do with pathology in theblack community than with any institutional racism in America.
