If you have a problem with these women, please explain why.........
What disturbs me is that it looks like one of them is doing kitchen work, and it looks like she has a gun at her belt too. While I'm not sure she has a gun, the picture is not clear enough, if she did have a gun, I would find it to be somewhat poor firearms safety to have it on while doing the kitchen work.

Would be better to have it on a shelf nearby.

Just wondering why the feel the need to wear a gun around the house while they're relaxing.

Do they have a problem with guns or something? Feel the need to prove something? :dunno:

Sometimes it's hard to distinguish whether someone is wearing a gun to supplement his ego or, if it's just a tool like a pocket knife. It's like those idiots who feel the need to strut around with a pitbull hauling ass at the end of a logging chain.

They are a self defense tool......and can be a fashion statement.

So what task are those tools being used for right now? If I only need a wrench once every couple of weeks, I might keep it close in a tool box, but I'm not going to carry with me every minute. How often do you think they have need for those tools? Admit it, it's nothing more than a fashion statement, or perhaps an extension for a guy who is less than confident in his manhood.

Really? You need to ask that question? Can you tell these women the exact time of the day or night they may run into a criminal, a rapist, robber or murderer? If we had that ability, then we would only need to carry at that time, but until we achieve that level of psychic perfection, then the only course of action if you want to protect yourself from a random, violent, criminal attack, is to carry your gun like you do your cell phone.

As to an extension of manhood......is that why these women are carrying those guns?

And again with the sexual reference....please get help.

Don't know when a fire might break out either, but I don't see them strapping a fire extinguisher to their legs. Can you say Fashion Statement?
Do you carry a wallet? FASHION STATEMENT
Do you carry a cell phone? Ditto
Do you carry a pen? Ditto also
See where this is going? Just because you may not need a given tool on a given day, does not mean that carrying it daily is a fashion statement. Besides, we know nothing about the situation, you assume they are in their own home, with the doors looked and are relatively safe. How do you know that? They may be in a house that is far out in the country with ample predators around. They just came in from outside to make a meal. Does that mean the guns are a fashion statement, simply because they did not remove them at the door? You make so many assumptions and judge the people and situation based on those assumptions. In reality, you know nothing but there are two women carrying guns in a kitchen. Does this frighten you? Or maybe it simply offends you for some reason. Why is it so terrible for two women to carry guns? Are you sexist? Or maybe you just believe that no one should be "allowed" to carry, unless YOU say so.

What ever the case may be, the problem here is not the women in the picture. The problem is YOU. You know nothing about the situation, and yet you pass judgement on it. Why is that? What is your intent?

Don't be silly. The implication of the picture is exactly what you said it was. They are calmly inside their own home. There is no reason to believe they just came from an intense situation where fire arms were needed. That is not a normal situation. The guns are a fashion statement. That is it.

BS. You strap a cell phone on your belt, and don't take it off the moment you walk in the door. You also have no idea if the women in this case were getting ready to walk out the door. Stop being silly.

WHY they are wearing the guns is not the point. It could be that they are preparing to leave for some target shooting. The WHY is not the point, how you are comfortable with it or not is the OP's topic.

Wichita Massacre - Wikipedia

Their crime spree culminated on December 14, when the Carrs invaded a home and subjected five young men and women to robbery, sexual abuse, and murder. The brothers broke into a house chosen nearly at random where Brad Heyka, Heather Muller, Aaron Sander, Jason Befort and his girlfriend, a young woman identified as 'H.G.', all in their twenties, were spending the night. They were all working adults: Befort was a local high school teacher; Heyka, a director of finance with a local financial services company; Muller, a local preschool teacher; and Sandler, a former financial analyst who had been studying to become a priest. H.G. is a teacher.

The Carrs initially scoured the house for valuables. H.G. learned of Befort's intent to propose marriage to her when the Carrs discovered the engagement ring he had hidden in a can of popcorn. After the search, the Carrs forced their hostages to strip naked, bound and detained them, and subjected them to various forms of sexual abuse, including rape and oral sex.[7] The brothers forced the men to engage in sexual acts with the women, and the women with each other. They drove the victims to ATMs to empty their bank accounts, before taking them to a snowy deserted soccer complex on the outskirts of town. There they shot the five execution-style in the backs of their heads. The Carr brothers drove Befort's truck over the bodies and left them for dead.

H.G. survived her head wound at the soccer field because her plastic barrette deflected the bullet. After the killers left, she walked naked for more than a mile in freezing weather to seek first aid and shelter at a house. Before getting medical treatment, she reported the incident and descriptions of her attackers to the couple who took her in, even before the police arrived.

Yeah......had the husband or wife carried a gun at home.....this might not have happened.....

Doctor who heard his wife and daughters being raped and murdered slams overturning of killer's execution

A DOCTOR who was forced to listen as two brutes raped and murdered his wife and daughters has slammed a court’s decision to overturn the killer’s death sentence.

Dr William Petit was tied up in the basement of his Connecticut home during a brutal robbery in July 2007.

-------

The powerless dad could only sit and listen as Steven Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky raped his wife and daughter, before Hayes murdered all three.

Hayes and Komisarjevsky were sentenced to death after being found guilty of the horrific crimes, but Hayes yesterday had his sentence revoked as it was considered “cruel”.

You see, genius........you never know when violent monsters are going to enter your life....these people found out the hard way....

Well...if you are a psychic, perhaps you could lend your services to people who are going to be victims of violent monsters...that way they would only have to wear their guns just before they were violently attacked...until then, how are these women and others supposed to know when they actually need their guns?

These people were relaxing in their own homes, bothering no one......

You guys always accuse gun owners of being afraid.....yet you are the ones who want to ban these objects...out of fear of them. Does a fire in your home happen everyday? Odds are, no. But having a fire extinguisher is just being prepared. Those stories above simply show that being prepared is not a bad thing, and can save your life. Those people in those stories had no idea when they woke up that morning how the day would turn out. Had they had a gun on their hip, along with a cell phone, they quite possibly could have survived those violent attacks. I am just not someone who is going to tell others what they can or can't do to keep themselves safe.

How many lives could be saved if everybody had a fire extinguisher strapped to their leg at all times? Using your logic, it would make perfect sense. You never know when you might need a good guy with a fire suppression device. The added advantage is that I never heard of somebody's kid getting ahold of the extinguisher and killing himself or others, or some vigilante shooting up somebody's car because he thinks someone shoplifted a candy bar, and he wants to be rambo. Looks more like gun nuts are cowards who are desperately trying to look tough.

So is the gun a statement or a useful tool? My grandfather (and husband) had/have guns. During hunting season, rifles are in use, when not in use, they're safely stored. My grandfather would have laughted at people who feel the need to carry assault type rifles and "massive stopping power" into Penny's.

Contrast that with those for whom gun's are just a tool:

My grandfather wouldn't have laughed. He would have told them they were idiots, and there was a time and place for guns, and in public like that was neither.

That is it.

These 5 people were at home, and they thought safe....until they weren't.......and it turned into a nightmare...had one or more of these men and women had a pistol on their hips, in their own home, they might be alive today...

It must be traumatic living in fear every minute of every day. I wonder what kind of mental problems could cause that kind of paranoia.
They're not afraid, they have a gun.

And, of course, the question needs to be asked. How many of the guns pictured leaped out of their owner's control and started shooting people?

Yeah.....the bar one? Virginia and allowed concealed carry in bars...their crime rate in bars went down....

http://www.wnd.com/2011/08/334117/

When Virginia passed a law allowing concealed carry in bars and alcohol-serving restaurants beginning July 1 of last year, opponents of the change decried the dangers of mixing guns and alcohol, for fear violent crimes would escalate.

But one year later, the Richmond Times-Dispatch did a study to see if the gloomy prognostications came true.

According to state police records, not only did gun violence in bars and restaurants not increase under the new law, it decreased by 5.2 percent.

In fact, of the 145 reported crimes with guns that occurred in Virginia bars and restaurants in fiscal 2010-11 (compared to 153 incidents in the year before the new law took effect), only two of the aggravated assault cases were related to concealed-carry permit holders. In one incident, the crime took place at a restaurant that didn’t serve alcohol – thus unrelated to the new law – and in the other, the weapon was neither discharged nor withdrawn from its holster.

“The numbers basically just confirm what we’ve said would happen if the General Assembly changed the law,” Philip Van Cleave, president of the pro-gun Virginia Citizens Defense League, told the Times-Dispatch. “Keep in mind what the other side was saying – that this was going to be a blood bath, that restaurants will be dangerous and people will stop going. But there was nothing to base the fear-mongering on.”

Virginia isn't the only state that allows carrying a gun....you just can't drink and carry, just like you can't drive and carry...

So......you guys would laugh at people who carry every day....tell us, do you know exactly when you will be violently attacked by a criminal? Because a lot of women who are violently raped, a lot of people who are brutally beaten and robbed, and a lot of people murdered by criminals sure could have used your psychic abilities.....

Allowing guns into bars has ‘surprising’ result

I think allowing guns in bars is a VERY BAD IDEA frankly. Alcohal fuels violence - there is no doubt about that.

I'm not totally anti-gun, believe it or not. I support the right of citizens to have guns but I also support LIMITS on that right (just like any other right). One of those is mixing guns and booze.

Is there any llimitation you support when it comes to gun rights?
