John Kerry’s big blunder in seeking an Israel-Gaza cease-fire
Secretary of State John Kerry has made a significant mistake in how he’s pursuing a Gaza cease-fire — and it’s not surprising that he has upset both the Israelis and some moderate Palestinians.
Kerry’s error has been to put so much emphasis on achieving a quick halt to the bloodshed that he has solidified the role of Hamas, the intractable, unpopular Islamist group that leads Gaza, along with the two hard-line Islamist nations that are its key supporters, Qatar and Turkey.
In the process, he has undercut not simply the Israelis but also the Egyptians and the Fatah movement that runs the Palestinian Authority, all of which want to see an end to Hamas rule in Gaza.

Obama looks for the easy answer that sides with Hamas instead of the intelligent answer that could appease both sides. It may take more time but in the long run would be the shortest timed answer because it could bring the two sides together. But that would get in the way of his vacations and fundraising.
at this point one can not appease both sides
Israel want to live in peace
while Hamas has devoted itself to killing every Jew
from behind every rock and tree
Israel wants all the land, not peace. But Hamas cannot militarily defeat Israel, and it's goal remains to destroy a Jewish State. Neither of which is of vital strategic importance to the US. Meanwhile, the cost for Tehran tacitly cooperating on nukes is that hamas gets more funding. And, Tehran's cooperation affects our relations with OPEC, who not only sell us lots of oil but have lots of our IOU's.
So, I'd agree that Kerry and Obama are foolish to become involved. A two state solution and peace between the Pales and Jews is unachievable at this time, and frankly even if Israel becomes a fully apartheid state, most likely our strategic interests are not affected.
Well it gave up gaza to appease the EU and save money, but meanwhile it's appropriating territory on the west bank, or did you miss that in Bibi's talking pts?

this so called BS was debunked yesterday .... try and keep up.
BS, rabbi. you're just lying. Israel is taking land in the WB continuously. Israel can't have peace because war justifies its occupation of the WB. Fatah stops its attacks and Israel keeps taking land. And now you want Hamas to surrender. The noncombatants are pawns and both people are run by terrorists.
It's like deja vu all over again.
