Is it ever appropriate for a juvenile offender to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole? In some cases, where the crimes are so violent and heinous and involve the death or rape of innocent victims, there is a strong argument for a life sentence. What about a 13-year-old kid who takes part in a robbery, a drug deal and driving without a license all within a two-year span and is sentenced to life under the three strikes law; is it so far fetched to think that he could be rehabilitated?
