  1. Economic Assistance: Since Ukraine's independence in 1991, the United States has provided substantial economic aid to support reforms, development projects, and humanitarian assistance. Cumulative economic aid over these years could easily amount to several billion dollars.
  2. Military Assistance: Starting in 2014, the U.S. significantly increased military assistance to Ukraine in response to Russia's actions in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. This includes equipment, training, and other forms of support.
Considering these factors, a rough estimate of the total amount of aid (economic and military) the USA has given to Ukraine since the fall of the Berlin Wall could range from $5 billion to $10 billion or more. This estimate takes into account both direct aid and support through international organizations and programs.

For precise figures, especially for recent years, referring to official reports or databases maintained by organizations like the U.S. State Department or the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) would provide the most accurate information.

Pyongyang will be sending troops to support Russian forces on the ground in the Donetsk region as soon as next month, based on the mutual defense treaty they have just signed. Ukrainian troops in the region may resist harder at the sight of invading Korean troops. Donetsk is a stronghold of the Azov battalion known for its Neo-Nazi ideology and symbols, like the Sonnenrad (sun wheel) displayed on its insignia. Some Azov figures were given senior positions in the civil administration.

As part of that visit Putin and Kim Jong Un signed a so-called defense pact in the North Korean capital on June 19.

The military treaty states: “In the event that any one of the two sides is put in a state of war by an armed invasion from an individual state or several states, the other side shall provide military and other assistance with all means in its possession without delay.”
