Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou plans to address the issue of the Venezuelan crisis during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), it was reported this weekend in Montevideo. The National Party leader is convinced that “there is no will [in Caracas] to count the votes.”

“What has to be done is to count the votes. There is no will to count the votes. I believe there never was. Unfortunately, what is happening? The days are passing, people are taking to the streets in Venezuela, but, naturally, they have to go on with their lives,” Lacalle said.

It is not over yet, but it is still not looking good.

America can't have the blessings of the UN to start a war against Venezuela. It may again attempt to do it under the blessing of Nato.

China, Russia, and the Brics' democracy isn't welcome in America's sphere of influence.

The US is not going to start a war with Venezuela, what is wrong with you people.

This is not about the US, not everything is about the US.

Odds are that the US can't get into Venezuela's natural resources wealth without a war. China and Russia and some others aren't going to allow the US to receive the UNSC's blessings.

A new world order is descending upon America!

China and Russia are supplying Venezuela with weapons to defend themselves. America needs war soon!

A history of both armed and political interference fomenting unrest south of the border?

True we do have that.

But that is not the topic of the thread.

Just once I would like to discuss something happening in the world without making the US the center of attention of the discussion

The US is involved in nearly all the wars on the planet. Find one to talk about that doesn't involve America.

Or talk about one of the wars that involves America bombing to save the world from Communism, where the victims deliberately stand under US bombs.

The United Nations is an utterly worthless organization. They should go in and remove Maduro by force, but they're a bunch of wimps.

I agree the UN is worthless but the only group that has a chance to make this right are the countries in the region.
