Latest Oil Industry Catch-Phrase

Bush-era offshore drilling plan shelved - US news - Environment NBC News

This is what precipitated the increase in energy costs that rippled through the cost of all consumer goods and cost our household over $8,000 annually at a time when our budget was already squeezed.
You STFU. Or buy a memory that functions. It hasn't been that long.

Wrong! You Idiot!! Republicans killed US oil production.

- Republican president Nixion & Ford enacted price controls that killed US oil production in the 1970's. Us oil production has declined under every Republican president since.

- Republican president Nixion created the EPA that helped kill US oil production in the 1970's. Us oil production has declined under every Republican president since.

- Bush senior signed EO12777 banning drilling. Horizontal fracking setback borders were enforced under Republicans, not under Obama. This EO tanked US oil production gains made under Carter.

- 60% in Republican Texas town that is the birthplace of fracking & has been supported by fracking just voted to ban it.

- Under Obama horizontal drilling boundaries setbacks were removed for Eco-Pad drilling reducing the cost of drilling & producing oil in the USA by $15/barrel. That made oil shale in the USA competitive creating the first rise in US oil production since the Carter administration.

- Since 1970 US oil production fell under every Republican administration due to their policies & only rose under Carter & Obama. Machiavelli would be proud of how Republicans lies have their sheeple believing the exact opposite.

- Republicans believe in powerful police state spending trillions of tax dollars to steal oil from others.

Gasoline prices at the pump will rise when Republicans take congress January 1, 2015. US oil production will again decline under the next Republican president.

The restriction were lifted in 2008. That's what led to the drop in price. Those restrictions were then reimposed by this hack administration. It's not only in the link but only requires a near term memory. I guess you lack that. Idiot!

I think the catch phrase is "drill baby, drill!". And it has been co-opted by Obama from McCain!

$2.70 gas? Thank the Obama administration!
Horse shit. :slap:
Remember when everyone wanted to get off foreign oil? Remember when we were an oil importer with few barrels to export?

That was six years ago.

What's different? Domestic production is at an all time high and Obama was elected twice.

Obama banned offshore drilling that Bush had approved and allowed virtually no drilling on federal lands. The industry increased production in spite of the road blocks put in place by Obama.

Would you have unrestricted oil drilling? Could Exxon Mobile drill in Yosemite? Could BP continue to use unsound methods and materials in off shore drilling? Should the resource of oil trump the environment for fishermen, for farmers, for the general population?

The drilling that has occurred has raised our domestic production, yet is has been done safer than it was before.

None of those things are mutually incompatible. Stop being an obama apologist.

Question 1, No. Question 2 No. Question 3 No. Question 4 No. Questions 1 and 2 are ridiculous, since no one advocates for that. Question 3 is covered by on site inspections by the feds and BP paid the penalty for its mistakes and a lot more. There are 10's of thousands of acres of federal land that could be drilled on without affecting the environment and, as you stated, it is already being done safer than it was before

Is agriculture adver5sely effected by pollution from oil extraction, or is oil extraction adversely effected by agriculture?

The potential for extraction has been severely curtailed by this administration and nothing he's done has enhanced output. He's only stifled and has kept this economy in the dumps as a result.

How then do you explain the sharp, steady rise in domestic oil production?

Perhaps your partisanship has left you blind to the truth.

The sharp increase in fracturing shale oil and the number of drilling permits granted on private land. Have you ever heard of what is happening in North Dakota? Obama did everything in his power to curtail the production of oil and keep gasoline prices high, but like a lot of other things, he failed.

That's one of the good failures that Rush Limbaugh alluded to, hoped for and got in trouble for back when the hack was first inaugurated.

Ag is a pain in the ass with which to deal. Oil extraction doesn't "pollute" when executed properly.

Hellooooo ... the topic here 'tis the season's good cheer and the difficulties faced by certain enemies of freedom, love, life and good will toward men (and women). Forget trying to blame someone for our good fortune and go buy some gas ... just because it feels good.
