I can demonstrate that showing an ID is the only way to prove someone is of legal drinking age, but you cannot show that Voter ID is the only way to prevent or catch voter fraud. In fact, you cannot show any actual voter fraud which could only have been caught or prevented by Voter ID.

Voter ID is basically just another way to gum up the works.

Has nothing to do with catching anyone.

The most common type of fraud is the kind where someone votes twice in two different voting precincts.

Okay. So the little old lady volunteer at the first voting precinct asks for the voter's ID. The guy produces one.

Another little old lady volunteer at the second voting precinct asks for the voter's ID. The guy produces one.

Voter ID did not stop this fraud, because the person was able to get their name on the registrar's list in two different juridsdictions. So clearly the problem must be solved by other means, and will not be solved with Voter ID.


Another way people vote twice or in other people's names is by absentee ballot. Anyone care to make a guess as to the success Voter ID would have in stopping this?


So you see, Voter ID is not the only solution to voter fraud. It will not stop most of the fraud which occurs.

Voter ID is a solution looking for a problem.

If an illegal alien is able to register to vote, that's a problem with the registration system which needs to be fixed long before election day. Voter ID won't fix that.

If a dead person votes, that is again a problem with the registration system. Voter ID won't remove dead people from the rolls.

If a person votes more than once, Voter ID won't stop that. That, again, is a voter registration problem.


We have an existing voter system bureacracy which is making mistakes, and you fools want MORE bureacracy? You clearly aren't thinking this through. You want to pile on more bureacracy instead of fixing what's broken.
