Hi Luddly: pushing this issue into state marriages does involve the public including people of diverse views and beliefs.

What is neutral and equal rights is to keep this issue of marriage out of public law altogether and keep it private. Neither force it nor ban it by law. Keep it >OUT< of govt.

Once you cross the line into state laws institutions authority and funding, then people either need to agree on a policy or agree not to push each other's beliefs on the other.

So both sides can rightfully say the other group is wrongfully pushing their views.
Neither is leaving each other's business alone.
They are both wrong to push, and they are both right that the other side is wrong to do so!

Why not push for scientific proof of healing homosexuality caused by abuse?

If the legalization folks are pushing for studies on medical marijuana,
and the stem cell folks are pushing for medical research,
where is the push for medical proof of spiritual healing
to cure not only drug addiction and cancer (thus, better than pot)
but the same process has also been used to cure
people of mental addiction and abuses, including homosexuality caused by sexual abuse.

why not push for that?
it would not only serve the public by reducing costs of crime and disease
so health care resources can serve more people effectively
but if your goal is to push a public statement, you could do that also!
