Amber Rudd has quit the cabinet and Conservative Party saying she cannot "stand by" while "loyal moderate Conservatives are expelled".

The work and pensions secretary said she no longer believed leaving the EU with a deal was the government's "main objective".

Really? But we do know there won't be a "last one out" because the Tories command an inexhaustible supply of sycophants in service of naked power. So, no one should wait for the lights to be turned off.

As to Rudd, she - work and pensions secretary, no less - is fine with, and was soldiering on despite, a decade of austerity inflicted upon the lower ranks of British society, but is devastated by that "assault on decency" - removing the whip from some MPs. If you thought she is anything other than yet another symptom of the rot devouring the soulless Tory party, think again.
