No, Gorsuch is no deal breaker. He will uphold Roe v Wade, Citizens, United, probably Hobby Lobby, will not interfere with LGBT issues, and most likely will instruct to write clearer legislation.

I get that. but on a host of issues Gorsuch is more moderate than Garland. Trump wants to make America great again. Gorsuch will not be an impediment, while Garland is a bit of a snowflake, though admittedly not of the caliber of the ugly Mexican and the even uglier Kagan.

Garland is a very good judge, and you are certainly a dingbat to suggest anything else.

Gorsuch will be more centrist than you are going to like.

So, no, it's not genius at all, but, yes, it is a decent move by McConnell, who could have made a better one with a much more conservative judge.

Had he gotten on SCOTUS the 5 anti Second Amendment dingbats would have said there's no individual right to bear arms and then there's be no militia well regulated enough to bear arms either. Garland was well respected by both sides (until he became a nominee)...as was Gorsuch. He's not too bad a choice. The real battles will be any choices further up the line. Hopefully, by then....things will change in Congress.
