McConnell hints against nuke option to kill Dem filibusters

That's how I see it anyway, and I am seeing it as an unending series of bad precedents that can have bad consequences. For example blocking the appointment of judges has led to a record number of long term vacancies, over burdened courts, too few judges, cases being dismissed on that basis.

Even if it isn't what you want in the way of who is nominated, that cycle will be broken next year.

What makes you think the cycle will be broken? It will resume once power shifts again, and, even then - Democrats still have enough numbers to obstruct.

The exact purpose of the Constitution as written is being served here. Obama has the right to make nominees, the Senate has the right not to act on them.

Because if Trump gets his nominees confirmed to the bench, the cycle won't begin again because the post is permanent, and it won't begin again unless one of them dies or steps down. That may take years or decades.
