The latest tragedy the left is wrongly using to exploit this is the horrific murder of Nabra Hassanen, a 17 year-old girl who was beaten to death after leaving mosque earlier this week. Before any real details surrounding the tragedy were in, it was already being pushed as the latest anti-Muslim hate crime (which is somehow the Right’s fault).
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) asked police to “conduct a thorough investigation of a possible bias motive in [Hassanen ‘s] case, coming as it does at a time of rising Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hate attacks nationwide.” Police are investigating — but they already have reason to doubt painting it as a hate crime. In fact, once you learn a bit more about the perpetrator, you may be agreeing with Marie Lu’s tweet at the end there, but not for the reason she thinks.
