Mitch McConnell Says Americans Won’t Tolerate Democrats Blocking Supreme Court Nominations He blocke

Just kick back and watch the 3rd world banana republicish first season of the reality america show.

Cruz: GOP may block Supreme Court nominees indefinitely

There will be plenty of time for debate on that issue ... There is certainly long historical precedent for a Supreme Court with fewer justices. I would note, just recently, that Justice [Stephen] Breyer observed that the vacancy is not impacting the ability of the court to do its job. That’s a debate that we are going to have," Cruz said, in remarks first reported by The Washington Post.

Mitch has shown us we can do just fine with eight judges

Expect a 9th to be confirmed by June or so. Schumer should keep the filibuster powder dry in case a lefty judge retires, not for Scalia's replacement.

Prior to the election, Republicans like Cruz and McConnell were telling us that there is no requirement for nine judges and that the country is doing just fine with eight

True. but the risk they took was losing the presidential election, and the Senate. Neither risk happened. Now they get the reward of that risk, which is getting to name Scalia's replacement.

"Elections have Consequences", as someone once said.

I can't wait for "The Harry Reid Memorial Option" to be employed.
That is the kicker. It was just fine when Reid went nuclear to get Obama's picks on the bench, but if Republicans use the same option, get ready for a lot of squealing.
Like last year when the GOP was squealing?
If you will recall, the GOP had considered using the nuclear option before Reid actually did it, but decided not to use it. So they had good reason to be ticked at the democrats, reason enough for them to expand the option and prevent the democrats from obstructing Trump's SC picks. They have little reason to not do so.

Trump is not president yet, and was never president in 2016..

Which is irrelevant to the idea of the democrats not being able to block Trumps SC picks.

That is for those in the political arena to decide..There may be GOP members that do not like Trump's choices for the Supreme court...A variable in the calculation can always change..

That is always a possibility. This truth, however, remains. The Republicans, thanks to Reid, now have the tools in hand to push through any SC justices they agree on. Reid's actions are a classic example of actions for short term gain that result in long term loss. Nonetheless, I have zero expectation that democrats will accept this reality gracefully.

i don't give a damn if they do, whatever streamlines the functions of government is a benefit..

McConnell could not be more wrong

If the American public cared about having a full Supreme Court, they would have punished Republicans for leaving a seat unfilled for a year

It is obvious they don't care

What do Democrats have to lose by leaving it empty another four?
