Funny how the media is silent about shootings in Europe when they push gun control here...

Rare Gun Violence Erupts In Stockholm: 1 Dead, 3 Injured In Shooting And Stabbing In Sweden

According to one eyewitness account, cited by The Local, two men, one armed with a gun, the other with a knife, chased down a man before stabbing and shooting him. The gunshots ricocheted into bystanders, who were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital. Police have cordoned off the area and are still looking for the unidentified suspects.

Of course they have even more gun control that we do here in the states...but their criminals get guns easily when they want or need them.....

Never heard about that. Anyway I tried to make some threads on the world news. People don't get interested.
I guess that must be connected somehow with the fact that Sweden is the #1 country in hosting Syrian refugees.

I'd think that the 'swedes' would be smarter than they are acting SNixon .

Are you really this dumb? Read the title to the article. It says "Rare Gun Violence Erupts In Stockholm". Do you have even the remotest idea of what that means? I will help you. It means that they rarely have any gun violence. Here in the US, we have between 250 to 300 gun related deaths and/or injuries every single day. If we account for the large variance in population, that would account for approximately 25 to 30 gun related deaths and/or injuries per day in the US. Sweden has slightly more than this for a full year. So please continue to tell us how bad it is in Sweden and how good it is in the US when it comes to guns. :cuckoo:

Gun nuts are stupid, not worth reasoning with them.

Gun nuts are stupid, not worth reasoning with them.

A partial list of some "gun nuts": John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington.

agreed David , reasoning won't work with Americans like me that understand that we have a RIGHT to Arms .

I don't think they would recognize our guns.

Sweden's gun death rate per 100,000 is about 1.5.

The US rate is about 10.5.

What do you infer from that?

That our inner cities are controlled by democrats....and the grand total of gun murders in the U.S. is only 8,454 in 2013.....out of a country of 320 million people, while guns stopped violent criminal attack and saved lives on average 2 million times a year here......

And if you stay out of small, multi block areas in our major cities, our gun murder rate is lower than Europe's.

Sweden is also the rape capitol of Europe....they like women defenseless........since guns are the most effective way to stop rape.

And their criminals still get guns as easily as ours do, that they don't use them as often is a culture issue, not a gun access issue. No matter how much gun control they have, their criminals still get them. Once their foreign immigrants start raising the level of violence there, then they will regret an unarmed victim population.

Sweden[edit]
Main article: Rape in Sweden
A frequently cited source when comparing Swedish rape statistics internationally is the regularly published report by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), based on official statistics provided by each member state.[note 1] In 2012, Sweden had 66 cases of reported rapes per 100,000 population, according to the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå).[230] This was unequivocally the biggest number reported to the UNODC in 2012.[231] However, widely differing legal systems, offence definitions, terminological variations, recording practices and statistical conventions makes any cross-national comparison on rape statistics difficult,[232][233][234][235] which is why the UNODC itself caution against using their figures.[231] It should also be noted that many countries do not report any rape statistics at all to the UNODC,[236] and some report very low numbers, despite studies that indicate otherwise.[237][238]

The Swedish police record each instance of sexual violence in every case separately, leading to an inflated number of cases compared to other countries.[232][235][239] Sweden also has a comparatively wide definition of rape.[232][233][234] This means that more sexual crimes are registered as rape than in most other countries.[233] For example, in 2005 Sweden reformed its sex crime legislation and made the legal definition of rape much wider,[232][240][241][242] which led to a marked increase in reports.[243][244] Additionally, the Swedish police have improved the handling of rape cases, in an effort to decrease the number of unreported cases.[232][244][245][246] For this reason, large-scale victimisation surveys have been presented by criminologists as a more reliable indicator of rape prevalence.[232][233][234] An EU-wide survey on sexual violence against women, published the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in 2014, placed Sweden below Denmark and Finland,[247] and a previous assessment by Brå have placed Sweden at an average level among European nations.[233]

According to the FRA study there's a strong correlation between higher levels of gender equality and disclosure of sexual violence.[247] This, and a greater willingness among Swedish women to report rape in relationships,[248] may also explain the relatively high rates of reported rape in Sweden, which has a long-standing tradition of gender equality policy and legislation, as well as an established women's movement,[234] and has been ranked as the number one country in sex equality.[235][249]

Sweden's gun death rate per 100,000 is about 1.5.

The US rate is about 10.5.

What do you infer from that?

And you ignore the people who commit 80% of the violent crime in the US are gangbangers. Why is that?

We know that. Shooters have rights, not the second graders or movie theater patrons getting carried out in body bags. Makes you proud doesn`t it?
