Sonya Blade and Kitana are two iconic female warriors from the combat video-game Mortal Kombat X.

Sonya is street-wise while Kitana is passionate and mystical.

These two female 'pop-media' avatars signify a new age confluence-gauged focus on gender and individualism --- really tough women who stand in symbolic positions in comparison to each other.

We can therefore reference Sonya and Kitana in discussions about 'gender philosophy' (e.g., Harlot of Babylon, Madonna, etc.).

This sort of video-game metaphysics would see censorship in less democratic nations such as Cuba and North Korea.

Is gender more digestible in commerce-liberal nations?

I like how that turned out, so I'm adding an addendum about Sheeva and Mileena, two other (more offbeat) female warrior-avatars from the Mortal Kombat franchise.

Sheeva is a gargoyle of sorts, and Mileena is a cloned menace.

SHEEVA: I stand for a woman's right to be a terrorist or a warrior in the name of true freedom.

MILEENA: You would do well to be more humble shuffling around with those multiple arms.
