MSNBC trying to insinuate that cold weather is the reason for low jobs numbers

The UE number dropped because the number of Americans trying to get a job also dropped...
And the Libs are hoping more of the same so they can chalk up another success for Obama....

That sickens me.

You are not looking at the figures correctly - 2,427 Marginally attached to the labor force.

917,000 discouraged workers in December, down by 151,000 from a year earlier.

The remaining 1.5 million persons marginally attached to the labor force in December had not searched for work for reasons such as school attendance or family responsibilities.

These numbers are NOT seasonally adjusted.

I'm still waiting for the 48 million Americans that did not have healthcare sign up....
Where are they?....
They should be signed up now... no?
It was the driving force to implement ObamaCare...

Did you not read what I wrote about that? Of course not - you were too busy calling me a stooge.

Well the BLS has you beat.

In November there were 91,283,000 people not in the workforce, by December the number rose to 91,808,000. An increase of 525,000. In November the amount of discouraged workers was 762,000, by December, the number rose to 917,000. That's an increase of 155,000 in a one month time span, Cabbie.

But of course, lets not deal with the facts here.

Employment Situation Summary Table A. Household data, seasonally adjusted

Over-the-month changes are not displayed for not seasonally adjusted data.

That statistic is not seasonally adjusted - it always goes up in winter.

Oh wow, you sound like Obama's press secretary, Cabbie. Then again, the amount of people not in the work force went up 2,943,000 from the December before.

It's never as much about the math as it's about who's doing the counting.

I'm still waiting for Republicans to take healthcare away from people

It will make great TV ads

I have cancer and Republicans want to take my insurance

Dude, you guys are going to get hammered, go ahead and bookmark this thread.

Save your rose coloured glasses for your buddies. If the Tea Party had not acted like complete nit-wits, you would have had a shot.

obama lied and millions of insurance policies died I understand this.

We'll see how that fleshes out. My guess is that people will be mostly insured by November and will have much better coverage than the high-deductible, no physician, low cap policies that they thought were actually insuring them. The tax breaks for those without employer participation are going to seal the deal.
The problem for Republucans is that they will run on ....your insurance sucks

When people ask....what do you have to offer that is better?

Republicans will answer......nothing

Not true, they are now offering up other "versions" of Obamacare, that are not quite so Socialist.

We have the worst job participation numbers since 1978. The economy sucks. Anyone who says otherwise is a partisan hack.

Anyone who still thinks that the sky is falling might be a small chicken who got hit in the head with an ACORN.

This is where Republicans falter...

They cannot offer up "versions" of healthcare without feeling the wrath of the TeaTards and rightwing media

Any Republican who sticks their neck out advocating healthcare will find it chopped off

Does it really matter about how low the unemployment number goes if so many Americans are no longer in the work force?

Did you not read what I wrote about that? Of course not - you were too busy calling me a stooge.

I don't give a god damn what you wrote
92 million Americans are not working
And 86 million of them say they don't want a job, 3 million haven't tried to work in over a year, half a million couldn't take a job if offered, etc.

As long as it's "Tea Party Approved" it doesn't matter WHAT it is - republicans will tear it up ... even if it is only slightly retooled. Problem is, outside if the hardcore social conservatives, a Tea Party endorsement is the kiss of death. A lot of Republicans do not yet understand this.

Me thinks that Republicans will stop slobbing-the-knob of Tea Party sycophants this year ... if they're smart or face certain defeat.

It's not because they are of retirement age, but do keep trying.

Where do I say anything about retirement age? But that's 23.6 million non-disabled age 65+
Then there are 23.1 million disabled (all ages). 14.3 million students age 16-24.
6 million of those not in the labor force say they want to work, but half haven't done anything to get a job in over a year.

The number I mention was people of working age not students or handie cap.
Are you suggesting that these people are freeloaders? living on government welfare?

The people you mention are those age 16 and older who are not in the military or prison, or in an institution. So yes it includes students and disabled not living in an institution.
