So blacks have JUST gotten "freedom" the last 40 years, and still face discrimination in this predominant white society. So we vote democratic today so we can continue to move foward. But MANY of the racists are in the republican party.

So THE REASON the parties are forever locked in dispute is because MANY REPUBLICANS ARE RACIST, and it doesn't matter what democrats want or do...they will fight to the death against it BECAUSE it may benefit blacks who are democrats.


If blacks started their own party, republicans would OVERNIGHT, cease to attack democrats.

Are you suggesting that every problem 'blacks' have in the US is caused by 'Republican rascism? Seems a bit unlikely to me but then I'm not an American.

The last African country I lived in was Botswana. Never had any white settlers (unlike neighbouring Rhodesia/Zimbabwe) , quite wealthy (because of diamonds), quite well governed and where 'rascism' does not exist.

But. Quite a big but actually. Since independence Asian entrepreneurs have gradually become predominant in new business and industry. The Batswana, who I like enormously, seem to have little talent for commerce. They seem to lack initiative.

This worries me. If Africans can't really compete in the best country in Africawhat chance have they elsewhere.

Which do you think is a wiser course for Black Americans?

I think a wise course for Black Americans is to put screaming abiut racism aside for a bit and join with Latino,, Asian, White. Native in working for economic justice.

I heard someone on the BBC say that Mandela's legacy was a 'peaceful South Africa'. Maybe, if you are not one of the remaining 'white' farmers who have not yet been murdered.

I see a day in the future when none of this will ever matter again. One day in the future, no one will see race or gender or sexuality as meaning anything in discourse of any type.
