I haven’t done a lot of research because there are more pressing issues. From what I have read it appears that training and supervision are the problems.

Maybe the idea of going after illegals attracts more yahoos than regular law enforcement but agents are routinely being accused of abuses of authority, including sexual assault of women detained at the border, and little has been done within the agency to stop this behaviour, much less curtail it.

There are numerous cases of violent arrests of US citizens who have names similar to those named in ICE warrants wherein the agents attacked and threatened those who tried to explain they had the wrong man.

My early impression is that there are serious problems within ICE which need to be addressed and I think these guys need body cams. But the work they’re doing is very necessary and if ICE gets burned to the ground, they’ll need another group just like to replace it until Americans stop hiring illegals.
