Well, as usual, you have some facts wrong. He came across with a woman and her child. They claimed to be a family for expedited processing. On September 14, 2023 illegal dirt bag ibarra was arrested for injuring a child in New York. Who knows who the baby mama for that kid is. Of course New York let him go.
He was arrested for riding with the child on a moped, which the cops at the time called "Child endangerment". The child was not injured. The cops let him go because it was a minor infraction.
Also, current court precedents, dating back 30 years, state that a family with minor children cannot be held in detention for more than 20 days. They came from Venezuela, which we have designated as an abuser of human rights. So by all rights, this family was entitled to a hearing.
the law currently says they are supposed to get a hearing within 180 days. But because of the backlog, it's more like four years. (My wife has been waiting 7 years for hers!)
So here's the thing. There are 1500 people sorting through cases. Biden wants money to hire more people and you think he should get it. Not a dime. Not a penny. Not a half penny or even a ruble. There should be no one sorting through cases. Deport them all. Every last worm, beetle, or bottle fly. Republicans denied funding which is what they should do.
Um, okay. But here's the thing. The law allows them to apply for asylum. That's why people have been flooding in since 2015. (It didn't start with Biden). Enough case workers to quickly process cases would discourage people from applying if the bogus ones can be dispensed quickly.
