North Charleston police officer fired for Facebook photo showing him dressed in Confederate flag

Any officer of the law must be above this kind of stuff especially in this charged atmosphere, any arrest he would make could be called into question, good they got rid of him




"Unacceptable.”

That’s the word North Charleston Police Chief Eddie Driggers used Thursday to describe a Facebook photo of one of his officers dressed in Confederate flag boxers.

The officer, Shannon Dildine, has since been terminated.

The controversial photo shows the now former police sergeant standing bare chested and dressed in nothing but rebel flag boxers or shorts. Dildine’s termination letter from Driggers was obtained by Charleston TV station WCIV and ABC News. Driggers writes:

Chief had to fire him. No choice in this day in age.


And...he got fired for displaying on his personal facebook page...a flag that flies on the grounds of his state government. Oh my....lawsuit pending.

Thats good! They need to come down. Im just saying...NCPD is gonna be sued big time. Currently that flag flies on Statehouse grounds of the State of South Carolina. And in SC...every cop goes through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy....a state run police academy in Columbia. And....every year...all cops must get recertified by the state.

The state that flies that flag....which this cop just got fired for displaying.

Its stupid. And yes...NCPD had to make this move for the overwhelmingly obvious PR nightmare.

But that cop is getting 15 phone calls per hour from lawyers desperate for his case. It'll be the quickest settlement ever. Hell...I bet they went ahead and wrote him a big check after the firing.
