obama angry and upset his brotherhood got tossed in egypt

Yea, well, Egypt is just the latest example that Muslim countries are not mature enough for democracy - they treat it like it's some kind of joke...

Egypt Protesters Brace for Expected Assault
August 11, 2013 > Tensions are rising among supporters of deposed Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi amid reports that security forces are preparing to move against two protest camps in Cairo.
Western and Arab mediators and some senior members of the Egyptian government have been trying to persuade the army to avoid using force to disperse the protesters, fearing a new wave of bloodshed. International news agencies are quoting unnamed Egyptian officials saying forces would begin to surround the camps on Monday. Egypt's interim leaders had warned several times they would dismantle the sit-ins after the Eid al-Fitr holiday which ran through Sunday. Senior government sources told the pan-Arab Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper the plan will be carried out gradually in an attempt to keep casualties among Mr. Morsi's supporters to a minimum.

Members of the Muslim Brotherhood and supporters of deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi rest amongst bricks stacked throughout their camp in the Nasr City area, east of Cairo Aug. 11, 2013.

A brief power cut early Sunday at the main sit-in outside the Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque struck panic among the pro-Morsi demonstrators. "They are warning us by cutting electricity power and the media said today that there will be one hundred and twenty riot police units that will be deployed to end the sit-ins in Rabaa and al-Nahda. Even if they brought millions of riot police units, it would make no difference: we are ready to die here," said pro-Morsi protester Nabil Ahmed Shahin. The government later issued a statement saying the blackout at Rabaa al-Adawiya in northeast Cairo was unintentional.

Many protesters, expecting an imminent security push to clear them out, have begun fortifying their positions. Vendors at Rabaa al-Adawiya have sold hundreds of gas masks, goggles and gloves to protesters readying themselves for police tear gas. Cement and wooden barriers have been constructed by protesters to keep armored vehicles from crushing the sit-in. Pro-Morsi supporters have said they will not leave the sit-ins until the president, ousted in a popularly supported coup July 3, is reinstated.

Egypt Claims Aerial Strikes Against Militants in Sinai
August 11, 2013 — An Egyptian military spokesman says Egyptian Air Force helicopters have been carrying out strikes close to the Israeli border, in an effort to root out Islamist militants operating in the area.
The attacks follow claims by an Islamist militant group that an Israeli drone strike Friday killed at least four of its fighters. Egyptian media are reporting that Islamist militants attacked army troops overnight in the coastal Sinai resort town of el Arish. A soldier guarding an officers club was lightly wounded. Another attack was reported near the town of Sheikh Zaweid, near the border with Gaza. Militants have stepped up attacks on army forces in recent weeks. Meanwhile, the army says it has used Apache helicopters in a series of strikes on militant targets near the Israeli border. An army statement indicated that at least 12 militants were killed in a strike on the village of Touma, near Sheikh Zaweid, overnight.

An army spokesman has denied reports that Israeli drones carried out a strike against Islamist militants on Egyptian soil. An Islamist militant group calling itself Beit al Moqadess claimed that four of its fighters were killed by an Israeli drone strike Friday. Retired Egyptian General Hussam Suweillam told Sky News Arabia that the Egyptian army finds itself in a “delicate position” regarding public opinion and “would need to respond if an outside power were known to have attacked Egyptian soil.” Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon stressed Saturday that Israel “respects Egyptian sovereignty,” and said he “appreciates” that the Egyptian military has stepped up activity in the Sinai to combat terrorism.

Veteran Egyptian editor and publisher Hisham Kassem argues that militant activity in the Sinai is a reaction by the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and its various allies to the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi. "There was a president who was actively protecting terrorists who kept flooding into the country and beginning to prepare to create an alternative army in the Sinai. Now, once that president was ousted, some of the leaders of the [Muslim Brotherhood] openly said that these operations are targeting the interim government,” said Kassem.

Muslim Brotherhood spokesman Mohamed Baltagi said recently that “attacks on the army in the Sinai will stop, as soon as (ousted) president Mohamed Morsi is restored to power." Few Egyptian analysts, however, believe it is likely that Morsi will be reinstated. Egyptian media has reported for weeks that the Muslim Brotherhood and its ally, Hamas, which controls Gaza, are trying to create a “Free Egyptian Army,” to battle government forces and reinstate Morsi.

I believe many people should be upset. The military coup put an end to a properly elected government. What this says for the future is that no freely elected government in Egypt is safe. This has nothing to do with support for the Muslim Brotherhood. Anyone who thinks it does is a complete moron. I guess it's not surprising so many would believe that it is all about the Muslim Brotherhood, but alas, it has nothing to do with them.

OP- Brainwashed idiocy, of course. Mubarak was a DICTATOR. Of course Obama prefers a secularist, but has to uphold democracy. Duh.

Shut the hell up mr brainwashed...obama appointed him you dumb moron..wake up and pull your head out of yo arse.

You continue to support a president who never WAS born here

one last question, why haven't you heard about Lt. Quarles Harris...who died based on a cover up?
Key witness in passport fraud case fatally shot - Washington Times
“We don’t have any information right now that connects his murder to that case,” Cmdr. Anzallo said.

Police say a “shot spotter” device helped an officer locate Lt. Harris.

A State Department spokeswoman yesterday declined to comment, saying the investigation into the passport fraud is ongoing.

The Washington Times reported April 5 that contractors for the State Department had improperly accessed passport information for presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain, which resulted in a series of firings that reached into the agency’s top ranks.

One agency employee, who was not identified in documents filed in U.S. District Court, was implicated in a credit-card fraud scheme after Lt. Harris told federal authorities he obtained “passport information from a co-conspirator who works for the U.S. Department of State.”

Why was he assassinated? or was IT just the beginning

Excerpts: A series of 2008 security breaches at the US State Department may indicate that someone knows Barack Obama‘s true status as a natural born citizen. An investigation of the incidents revealed that all three major presidential candidates – Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain – had their passport files compromised.

Newsmax tied the security breach to the Natural Born Citizen issue back in January 2009. Sources who tracked the investigation tell Newsmax that the main target of the breach was the Obama passport file, and that the contractor accessed the file in order to “cauterize” the records of potentially embarrassing information.

“They looked at the McCain and Clinton files as well to create confusion,” one knowledgeable source told Newsmax. “But this was basically an attempt to cauterize the Obama file.”

On April 5, 2008, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Passport Services Ann Barrett resigned from her post after a credit card scheme using US passport data was uncovered by the security probe. State Department Spokesman Tom Casey told The Washington Times that 24-year-old Lieutenant Quarles Harris Jr. told federal authorities he obtained “passport information from a co-conspirator who works for the U.S. Department of State.”

Then, on April 17, 2008, Lt. Harris was found fatally shot dead slumped over the steering wheel of his car in front of the Judah House Praise Baptist Church in Northeast DC. The Washington Times reported that Lt. Harris was a key witness cooperating with the federal probe into the State Department security breach. Lt. Harris’ mother, Cleopatra Harris, told ABC affiliate WJLA-TV that she believed her son’s murder may have been due to his role in the federal investigation.

according to the obama admin, it wasn't a coup.

Truly funny stuff unless you happen to live in Egypt. I love watching Obama fail.

It's this attitude from the far right that is most scary. Sure, a freely elected government was overthrown, but as long as Obama looks bad it's good. :eusa_hand:

The quoted poster’s statement might be asinine BUT this is a good thing for other reasons.

That ‘freely’ elected government was not acting in good faith with the new constitution. It is the RIGHT of the people to overthrow a corrupt government and this one just happened to start out that way. It should not be a surprise, Egypt is brand new to this democracy thing and it was not stood up by outside forces. They are doing this on their own (a good thing) and mistakes are bound to happen. Just because round one is a failure does not mean that future attempts are going to follow the same suit.

GOOD! No government should think that it is safe to act against the good faith of the reason that they were elected, that would be a dictator. You seem to think that because they were elected that the people should simply deal with whatever is handed to them even if that government is acting against the people. That is absurd. I don’t want the government there to feel ‘safe.’ I don’t want governments anywhere to feel safe. Rather, they should feel that they need to act in good faith with the constitution and the people or be removed – forcibly if that is what is required and the infractions bad enough.

I think that this is an indication that the Egyptian people are simply done with overzealous government.
