Many of the detainees didn't belong there. They were the victims of the Salem Witch Trial Syndrome. If a rival tribe member didn't like them, all they had to do was tell the gullible Americans they were a terrorist, and zip! thud! off to Gitmo.

THEY are not trying to defund the military. THEY are approving a defense budget. It would be Obama that vetoes that budget -- not the Repubs. There is no law that says the Repubs have to do anything that Obama wants. NONE.

I say they are just highlighting the problem... The thing is Gitmo costs a small fortune to run... It costs 2.7 million a year per prisoner...

A move of facilities would:
Save enough to pay for 20,000+ kids to go to college
Cuba asked for to be moved and hey nice to be good neighbours
Reduce propaganda (why give a reason to the extremists to beat the moderates in the ME)
