In the military, you don't send a message by leaving the base standing. You level it. What is the point of spending 1.2 MILLION per missile when you leave the airbase so that they can start using it again almost immediately?

And, not cratering the runway with 4 of the 59 missiles they sent over there was a bad call. Same with not taking out the chemical bunker, because the only thing in that area is the base which is populated by soldiers, so no civilians would have been hurt.

And, even if most of the gas had been released into the atmosphere, it would dissipate into the atmosphere to non lethal levels after about a mile to mile and a half.

So, why do you think it was a good idea to send missiles, but not destroy the airfield? Like I said earlier, the primary mission and vision statement of the U.S. Military is to deliver ordnance on target and on time to destroy things and kill people in the furtherance of the goals of this country.

And, it hasn't helped that the "armada" Trump threatened to send to N. Korea was never actually assembled.

And, because I spent 20 years in the Navy, as well as served in 4 war zones, I know that when you attack an airbase, you take out the runway as well.

No, I'm not screeching for war. Trump is the one that sent the missiles into Syria, and it was a pretty ineffective strike because they left the airfield.

Trump is the one that threatened N. Korea with an armada of 3 carrier groups and announced it BEFORE he had made sure that the carriers were available.

What I'm saying is that if Trump is going to use military action, he needs to be more effective with it, otherwise the entire world will think we are impotent.

Shoot.................Kim Jong Un finding out that there were never any carrier groups to start with might only embolden him further because he probably now thinks that Trump won't do what he threatens.

When he said he was sending 3 carriers over there, that is probably the reason that Russia and China deployed spy ships, but they then found out there weren't any carriers to be seen.

What he did with N. Korea was nothing more than an empty threat, and if he keeps it up, our enemies will stop being afraid of Trump.

Seems stolen valor has no idea of military history. We have been at war with North Korea for over 4 decades.
At the moment we are at a mutually agreed cease fire and nothing more.

Wow! If you were a real former military you would know bombing the bunkers could release the gas.
And you would also know that the planes were in international air space the same as just last year under Obama.

Yeah, if they hit the bunkers, there could be gas released, but it was on a military base away from civilians, so the only ones that would have been killed would have been Syrian soldiers.

Not one Syrian soldier died or was even injured in the attack.

In the military, you don't send a message by leaving the base standing. You level it. What is the point of spending 1.2 MILLION per missile when you leave the airbase so that they can start using it again almost immediately?

And, not cratering the runway with 4 of the 59 missiles they sent over there was a bad call. Same with not taking out the chemical bunker, because the only thing in that area is the base which is populated by soldiers, so no civilians would have been hurt.

And, even if most of the gas had been released into the atmosphere, it would dissipate into the atmosphere to non lethal levels after about a mile to mile and a half.

So, why do you think it was a good idea to send missiles, but not destroy the airfield? Like I said earlier, the primary mission and vision statement of the U.S. Military is to deliver ordnance on target and on time to destroy things and kill people in the furtherance of the goals of this country.

And, it hasn't helped that the "armada" Trump threatened to send to N. Korea was never actually assembled.
