The first words of the constitution after the preamble are "All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States". The only purpose of executive orders is for the president to explain how he will enforce laws passed by congress. That is not being done here. Obozo is writing laws telling americans what they can or cannot do.

Unable to overcome opposition to new gun laws from Republicans and a handful of conservative Democrats, the White House has resorted to issuing executive orders which do not need Congressional approval.
The new orders ban Americans from buying weapons that the US military has provided to foreign governments. Around 250,000 guns, including assault rifles, have been re-imported back into the US since 2005, according to White House figures.
A second order prevents gun buyers from registering machine guns or sawn-off shotguns to a corporation and therefore avoid undergoing a personal background check

Exactly, and the states need to assert that. Obozo will say "the supreme court says i can do this" but the court has no authority the change the constitution either. You want to change the constitution and give legislative power to the president, then you must go thru the amending process.

Unless the Corporation is a security firm I have no problem with that signing. BUT he has no authority to preclude firearms sold to a foreign nation from coming back to the US.

I believe anyone has standing to challenge that as it effects any firearms purchase.

Actually, this was a horrible thing and you should be equally as upset over it.

First of all, he just re-wrote 200 years of Corporation Law with that EO, just as he re-wrote 200 years of Bankruptcy laws with the Auto Bail Outs.

2nd of all, there was a loop hole, yes.. but not the one he closed.

Sure an "ineligible" person may be put on the trust.. But that doesn't change the fact that that person would be still committing a crime if they touched any weapon in the Gun Trust.

This was a solution to a problem that didn't exist.

Just as his ban on the re-importation of M-1s is a solution that is looking for a problem. The M-1 is a collectors piece, not something that a criminal would use to commit a crime with.

Hey insect. The constitution spells out how it can be amended to change with the times. It's been amended 27 times so far. If you want to abolish states rights, then go thru the amending process.
