Official State of the Union Thread

President Trump is right about El Paso:

In fact, the number of deportable illegal immigrants located by the US Border Patrol plummeted by more than 89 percent over the five-year period during which the controversial new fence was built, according to Homeland Security data I reviewed. When the project first started in 2006, illegal crossings totaled 122,261, but by 2010, when the 131-mile fence was completed from one end of El Paso out into the New Mexico desert, immigrant crossings shrank to just 12,251.

https://nypost.com/2018/01/13/we-already-have-a-border-wall-and-it-works/
Illegal immigration has been declining all across the border for over a decade
by declining you mean increasing at a rapid rate dont you???

cause thats been whats happening

I didn’t watch it. I never watch the SOTU. The POTUS always lies or misrepresents or embellishes during the speech.

I thought Obama lied more than most. Did Don lie more than O?

I watched it. I watch it just to see the pained faces on Dims faces. It cheers me up.

Anyway, he essentially gave a feel good speech about America regarding its accomplishments and role for keeping America free from all the tyrannical powers like Nazi Germany, and by the way, we need border security, and had an ICE officer stand up and be clapped for because he had caught drug dealers and human traffickers etc. He did not even give much on any facts to argue about and even had the Dims standing up and clapping for such things as more women in Congress than at any other time in US history etc.

The clincher was though, when he talked about Venezuela and how it was oil rich and once the richest country in South American until socialism sunk it's wretched teeth into and destroyed it. Then he said that socialism must never come to the US, even Pelosi and Schumer stood up and clapped.

My jaw hit the ground when they did.

Hilarious.

I'm sure it made your day to see Nancy beside Pence instead of Ryan. :iyfyus.jpg:

Not much difference. Ryan was an anti-Trumper as well. IMO

I honestly think Trump breathed a sigh of relief when Ryan left. After all, you would rather fight the opposing party than create a Civil war within your own.

Going head to head with crazy train Pelosi will then be fodder for the 2020 elections.
Trump pouted for weeks after Republicans lost the House
That was in your dreams

What is it that you think that proves? Or do you simply wish to disenfranchise KKK members (all 5 of them)

it shows that racism and having support of racist is not limited to one party or the other. What did it show for Duke to support Gabbard?

I just can't imagine why, can you?

Then again, 60 years ago Venezuela ranked 4rth in the world in terms of economic freedom, but now they rank 179th after years of socialism and they are starving to death.

But alas, socialists like Sanders and AOC point to Europe as the socialist model they like, while pretending that places like Venezuela and North Korea don't really exist.

Swedish Economist Schools Sanders On The Ravages Of Socialism | Stock News & Stock Market Analysis - IBD

But according to this economist in Sweden, it does not really work well there either.

Election '16: Socialist Bernie Sanders believes nations "like Denmark, like Sweden, and Norway" employ the welfare-state economic model that the U.S. should replicate. An economist from one of these countries shows how wrong he is.

Sanders' teenage infatuation with the European welfare state is well-documented. He's convinced that America could learn from what those nations listed above "have accomplished for their working people." He has said that it "makes a lot of sense" to him that “it is very hard to become very, very rich, but it’s pretty hard to be very, very poor” in Denmark. In his single-issue mind, capitalism and free markets are evil forces that government must restrain.

These positions are why he appeals to his supporters, and there are enough of them within the Democratic Party to have kept him in the presidential primary race this long -- much longer than anyone expected. But, Sanders and his supporters who think they know so much in reality know nothing at all.

At one time, Sweden, a small nation, had the fourth-largest economy in the world. That was in 1970. Twenty-five years later, the economy had tumbled to 14th and the private sector stopped creating jobs, according to Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development data. This wasn't caused by Sanders' demonic duo of capitalism and free markets. It was caused by the very policies he idolizes.

"Sweden got rich first with free trade and an open economy, before we had the big government," Swedish economist Johan Norberg explains in a new YouTube video.

"In the 1950s, Sweden was already one of the world's richest countries, and back then, taxes were lower in Sweden than in the United States."

It was only after that, says Norberg, "did we start expanding the government dramatically."

"And do you know what happened then? We started losing," says Norberg.

"It all ended in a terrible crisis."

As we have noted before, Sweden has been repealing its welfare state post-crisis. Norberg says the country has become "successful again, but only after a new reform period, with more deregulation and free trade than in other countries." Taxes have been cut, school vouchers allocated, and the pension system partially privatized as Sweden distances itself from its welfare-state past.

Norberg's rebuke of Sanders -- he never calls him by name, but it's clear who he has in mind -- is reminiscent of Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, who said he had enough of Sanders slurring his country with the "socialist" label.

Sanders needs more lessons such as these, because he simply doesn't know what he's continuously spouting off about. Yet he's been invited to the Vatican to talk about building a "moral economy," as if he's an authority on that subject. Simply put, there's nothing moral about the economic system Sanders favors -- it destroys jobs and snuffs out opportunities to rise higher. What was the Vatican thinking when it extended the offer?

The Vatican was being no less obtuse than Sanders' American supporters, though, because what they are advocating are policies that in the end will create a terrible crisis in this country.

WE 'WILL NEVER BE SOCIALIST'

Trump vows to reject far-left economics and call to become a Socialist Nation in the SotU Speech, as key Socialist Democrats who have hijacked the Democratic party sat watching 'stone-faced'

One of the most powerful moments in the SotU Speech was when the President brought up how the history of Socialism and the current collapse of Socialist Venezuela - once the richest country in South America - reminds us the self-destructive lesson of embracing Socialism, despite how many times oppressive governments and dictators arrogantly declared, in the past 'Yes, but that won't happen to us.'

President Trump vowed that 'tonight' the United States was re-committing itself to liberty, freedom, and democracy on which our Founding Fathers built this nation. He then declared, 'We will NEVER be a Socialist Nation'.

In that moment the chamber erupted with applause and chants of 'USA, USA, USA', as even Democrats rose to their feet clapping...except for the Democratic party's 2 most extreme Socialists - D-Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and D-NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Even Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer rose to their feet in applause at the President's declaration.

CBS's Poll shows 76% approved of the President's Speech. Even CNN's own poll showed the majority of the country (59%) rated his speech as 'VERY Positive'. (Now we know why Pelosi tried to stop the SotU Speech and did not want the President to speak to the country.)

I have a suggestion for D-Socialist Sanders & D-Socialist Ocasio-Cortez:

If they truly believe that Socialism is the way to go and they have the blueprint for a better Socialism than Venezuela had, one that will succeed where they failed, why don't they go to Venezuela and pitch / implement their ideas. After they turn the country around and succeed they can bring their victorious brand of Socialism back to the United States for us all to embrace......

OH WAIT - that won't work. Venezuela just kicked their failed socialist regime / dictator out of power and turned their back on historically proven failed Socialism. That's why Sanders and Ocasio-Cotez stay here, trying to convince those who have never experienced Socialism and the collapse of a country due to it 1st-hand.

Funny coming from the guy that redistributed 32 billion dollars to the farmers last year. Is that not a Socialist act?

No, that's charity and compassion. Socialism is when you raise the national debt $7 trillion for some hare-brained "New Green Deal."

how about when you raise it 1.48 trillion in a single year in a booming economy and have nothing to show for it?
Big fat lie.

There is probably lots to show for it, but someone who hates Trump or America will likely not look thoroughly.

If those haters were thorough they would not hate America or Trump.

Tell me, what did we get for that extra 1.48 trillion added to the national debt?

did we spend it fixing infrastructure?

what did we get for it?

You liberals are always parroting the same $1.48 trillion figure. That's only a projected number that the left claims will add to the debt because of the President's tax reform bill. You people seem to think that taxing people out of existence is the only way for the government to generate revenue, but it's not. President Trump's economy is proving that Keynesian economics doesn't really work.

Nope, it is an actual number...the real number that the government tires to hide, but those with some basic math skills can find it.

Debt to the Penny (Daily History Search Application)

Total national debt on 1 Jan 2018: $20,492,746,546,193.75
Total national debt on 31 Dec 2018: $21,974,095,705,790.55
That is a difference of $1,481,349,159,596.80...or for you math challenged people...1.48 trillion dollars.

As for taxes...I think we should pay for what we spend. I know this is not a popular position among you statist, but i think that deficit spending should be only allowed in the time of a declared war or an official recession...not during a booming economy.

Are we talking about the $1 Trillion failed NON-Shovel-Ready Obama Stimulus Bill that contained over $7,000 pieces of DNC-Only self-party-serving pork that ended up costing US tax payers approx. $774,000 PER JOB Obama claimed to have saved / created....that failed to keep unemployment below 9% like he promised....

OR are we talking about tax dollars Trump and the GOP has spent that has resulted in:
- The strongest economy in decades
- The lowest economy in decades
- The lowest minority employment in recorded history
- The most # of Americans working at 1 time
- Jobs Obama said would never come back to the US back
- Higher wages, raises, bonuses, & increased opportunities
- A record # of Americans off Welfare/Food Stamps/ etc...
- Record Consumer Confidence
- Record Stock Market
- Better trade deals for Americans
- No more govt/Dems dependence - more independence
- NATO paying their fair share for their defense
- US hostages returned without paying ransoms
- NO defense of/aiding/assisting/arming/funding terrorists
- No more dragging the US into wars to help terrorists

I didn't ignore it, I simply didn't see it. Simple is most certainly something you should understand.

So how come Democrat’s neither applauded, let alone stood up for such issues as the long list of things going right in America?
Prosperity in America means less dependence on govt / Democrat handouts, which Democrats rely on for votes.

Whatever is good for America is bad for Democrats.

I am no fan of socialism.

But you have no clue how utterly stupid, obsessed and pathetic this post makes you sound...do you?

I thought not.

Have a nice day.
Thou shall not attack the religion of the Left, socialism.

It's obvious Little Trumpsters have no clue what real socialism really is,,no, they just suck down talking points and fear tactics.
They are the most gullible group of people I have ever witnesses in my life.
Socialism-

1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
Definition of SOCIALISM

Democrats in a panic trying to lie their way out of being losers

Trump
Is gonna show China and Russia how to prosper without wars

A real hero for sure

Well, that explains why you are such a statist. It all make sense now.
The results of the Trump Presidency, having successfully accomplished more in 2 years than Obama was able to in 8, speaks for itself.

You would have American believe, like Obama tries to do, that the President who gave up on trying to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US and told Americans to accept their being gone forever as 'the new norm' is somehow responsible for those same manufacturing jobs coming back and for the economic turn around we now have.....

Such a belief / declaration defies the facts, common sense, and sanity!

It proves YOU are a lying, Trump-Hating, indoctrinated, easily emotionally-manipulated Socialist Democrat Obama-pologist BOOB to whom it is a complete waste of time talking to.
