This latest blizzard of lies assumes most voters have never been to the Caribbean... There is no reason to lie about the Haitians. There was a need for a MAYOR to show some LEADERSHIP and COMMUNICATE with the Haitians that what they were doing with cats and ducks doesn't cut it here. No arrests, no threats etc. Just, hey, this is America, and that doesn't fly, and then smoke a bong with the Haitians and every thing is cool. We can live with some Haitians. Two Chinese battalions is another matter entirely...

Yes, the Haitians eat cats and ducks and will chop them up with a machete right in front of you. No, that doesn't make them horrible monsters. That is their culture and way of life. People from India worship cows and don't eat them. They would be "appalled" by outback steakhouse. That doesn't mean people from India cannot live here, or cannot be friends with Americans who do eat cows.

If there are threats of violence against the Haitians, please get a clue and grow up. No need for that at all.

That whole story about bombthreats sounded silly to me... why would an angry resident want to blow up an over crowded school?... its gas lighting by the media...

Back in Kansas, for several years I was executive director of a large social agency with a huge facility--multi-gyms, olympic size pool, many art and lecture classrooms/workout rooms, daycare, preschool, pottery/ceramics, gymnastics etc. And every so often some prankster would call in a bomb threat which we knew in our hearts was bogus but still had to evacuate the building just in case.

One time we were having the carpets replaced in most of the building so had areas piled high with stuff to facilitate that process. And of course the police come in to sweep the area with their typical question: Have we observed any unusual packages or anything else out of place?
