Over the past forty years, power, money and greed have corrupted our elected government officials at every level.
Whats most alarming is that the blatant corruption running rampant in Washington is actually tolerated by the American people. Unfortunately, members of both parties act as if their jobs are nothing more than a big political game. Theyre so focused on insulting the other side and getting their own agendas passed that they forget who theyre supposed to be working for: the United States public.
In chapter nine of author J.R. Martins eye-opening, Selling U.S. Out, he points out that political scandal and corruption are not new. Theyve always existed. All one has to do is read the news to discover the corruption and greed of the big players of our governmentthe recent government shutdown is a prime example.
