PC Fascists To Remove Lee and Jackson from War College Memorials

There are no Constitutional provisions for secession. Never were

Taking up arms against your country is Treason......always has been

The South had the legal right to leave as it came in. Ratification and approval by Congress.

Instead, the South began the war of southern aggression and the Old South states were executed by the North.

Left out the other 100 names given to the Civil War........... Interesting you should choose only that one........
Right or wrong the South saw itself as being oppressed and under attack for it's way of life (not making a value judgement, simply stating a fact). The majority believed, and to a certain degree they were correct, the Northern states controlled the Federal Government and had become tyrannical.
They felt they could get no redress from congress so they took the only course they believed they had. They saw it a a defense of their liberties and way of life (again, talking about factual historical occurrences/social norms, not moralities) so felt justified to take the actions they took. Depending on how one views it depends on whether those actions are considered aggressive or justifiably appropriate. :dunno:

Thank you for reasonable and rational comments.

I used the term to poke at the defenders of secessionism; they believe they can be rude to others without being handled.

The problem was this: could slavery be contained to the Old South or was it to be national?

SCOTUS said 'yes' to the latter, and Lincoln was every bit as ruthless as Jackson when it came to his opinion that it would not be allowed outside of the Old South.

The South never could have achieved Congressional approval in being allowed to leave the Union.

Thus came that horrible war.

Yup, just ask King George III, he'd agree........

Absolutely correct.

Had the revolution failed, it's more than likely each of the founders would have been hung.

Which did NOT happen to the traitorous Southerns.

No, you are simply supportive of friends of terrorists like Bill Ayers who has killed Americans with bombs, you fucking traitorous moron.

You are lying again. Who was Ayers convicted of killing.

You deny he was a part of an organization of incompetent terrorists who bombed US government buildings and accidently killed several of their OWN members?

That is still terrorism, that is still criminal murder as he was part of the organization whose actions resulted in the deaths of American citizens, even if they were themselves terrorists at the time.

The charges were dropped due to technicalities, and unlike George Zimmerman, that does not clear Ayers of guilt or later execution of justice.

That is so typical of leftwing fascist hypocrisy, harass an innocent man cleared by a jury like GZ, and yet embrace an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers and ignore those that befriend him.

Just try being a man. Admit that you were wrong and forget the Tourrette's ranting.

Your protests in this thread show your lack of patriotism.

Patriotism does not require a closed mind, you fascist.

Your lack of grasp of Keynesianism and your hackery of von Mises's doctrines caused an avalanche of laughter on the Board.

Prove it jack ass.

One, you have a closed mind: you are a TeaPtard, what can I say.

Two, the other was settled in the thread in which you pretended to understand both Kenyesian and the Austrians schools and got way outed.

Tis way tis.

You cannot even do attributions right, idiot.[/QUOTE]

Whine all you want, you lost Keynes' OP and you have lost this one. Tis what tis.

Our Constitution has no provision for secession. It was never intended that states could join and leave as they wished. If it were, they would have provided Constitutional language for leaving, dividing property, citizenship issues, paying back debt

Ask King George III, he considered the rebels to be treasonous. If he had won, they would have been treated that way. If the South had won, they would not be traitors

Since they lost....they are

True, our forefathers did....... Yet we in the colonies were the ones who actually brought about the British reaction primarily due to the fact that we (George Washington in particular) was responsible for starting the French and Indian wars, the first true world war, which drained the Crown's coffers. the British felt the colonist should help pay to refill those coffers, being self sufficient for so long many colonists resented that fact........ Oops.

Except that I am not wrong.

Demonstrate I was wrong, dumbass, or just shut the fuck up, you shameless whore.

Yup, the winners get to determine who was the aggressor/traitor. I never said any differently.
