The Philippines and Vietnam signed a defense cooperation agreement on Friday in Manila, marking a significant strengthening in relations for the two Southeast Asian nations that face Chinese aggression in the South China Sea.

Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro and his Vietnamese counterpart Phan Van Giang signed letters of intent to facilitate closer ties after Phan paid a courtesy call on Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Marcos described the defense minister's visit, Phan's first to the Philippines, as a "very significant point in the history between our two countries."

Another positive step to reign in China.

Which is why these nations are banding together. Plus, China has a lot of money and time invested in Vietnam, will it be worth it to China to lose that over some stupid water border disputes.

Have you ever seen that video of a Chinese warship gunning down guys standing on a sandbar with rifles?
They used a Vulcan cannon. The sandbar guys were Viet. No chance to even react and fire back.
That could have gone different.
