Please join the AGW cult and sign this ban against Dihydrogen monoxide.

1983 called, with two requests.

1. It wants its joke back.

2. It wants you to kill yourself.

And yet I can go to any environmental gathering and get the sheep to sign that petition all over again. Face it, most environazis are ignorant. Just like you.

I believe in keeping the air, water, and land as clean and healthy as is reasonably possible.

Tell me what's ignorant about that belief.

Be specific. Or shut up.

Oh the silly far left/AGW cult and their irony impaired comments!

"The college idealists who fill the ranks of the environmental movement seem willing to do absolutely anything to save the biosphere, except take science courses and learn something about it."

Your understanding of "reasonable" is what's ignorant.

In what trailer park in your world does that pass for an intelligent response?

Apparently it was the one where people are smart enough to know that Dihydrogen monoxide is water.

Dihydrogen monoxide:[8]

  • is also known as hydroxyl acid, and is the major component of acid rain.

That if you give something a deceptive name, you can make it scary?

So your argument is other people's lack of technical expertise makes your scientific denial okay?

"Deceptive" name? Are you kidding me? Any person with even a high school chem class behind them will know what it is. This just go's to show how totally, and completely ignorant you morons are.

Other uses include:

Wrong, the sulfuric acid is a minor component. Were it the dominant one not a single marble monument would still be extant. Learn some science you twit.

Acid Rain

About one-fourth of the acidity of rain is accounted for by nitric acid (HNO3). In addition to the natural processes that form small amounts of nitric acid in rainwater, high-temperature air combustion, such as occurs in car engines and power plants, produces large amounts of NO gas. This gas then forms nitric acid via Equations 4 and 5. Thus, a process that occurs naturally at levels tolerable by the environment can harm the environment when human activity causes the process (e.g., formation of nitric acid) to occur to a much greater extent.

What about the other 75% of the acidity of rain? Most is accounted for by the presence of sulfuric acid (H2SO4) in rainwater. Although sulfuric acid may be produced naturally in small quantities from biological decay and volcanic activity (Figure 1), it is produced almost entirely by human activity, especially the combustion of sulfur-containing fossil fuels in power plants. When these fossil fuels are burned, the sulfur contained in them reacts with oxygen from the air to form sulfur dioxide (SO2). Combustion of fossil fuels accounts for approximately 80% of the total atmospheric SO2 in the United States. The effects of burning fossil fuels can be dramatic: in contrast to the unpolluted atmospheric SO2 concentration of 0 to 0.01 ppm, polluted urban air can contain 0.1 to 2 ppm SO2, or up to 200 times more SO2! Sulfur dioxide, like the oxides of carbon and nitrogen, reacts with water to form sulfuric acid (Equation 6).

From your own link:
"ACID RAIN forms when clean rain comes into contact with pollutants in the air, like SULFUR DIOXIDE (SO2), CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2), and NITROGEN OXIDES (NOX). Although sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide occur in the air naturally, burning fossil fuels adds more of these chemicals to the air. When these pollutants are released into the air, they mix and react with water, oxygen, and other chemicals to form acid rain."

So, once a REACTION with water occurs the chemicals FORMED are not water.

You obviously didn't even read your own link!
The Right ALWAYS sees things that aren't there simply because they want to see them.
Why am I not surprised?

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I don't care if I am):

If the rain is 75% Sulfuric Acid, 25% Nitric Acid, with no H2O involved whatsoever after the reaction, why isn't it melting faces? How do you have rain with that much Sulfuric Acid in it without killing every living thing on the planet?

The two components of H2SO4 are SO2 and H20.

Sulfur Dioxide + Dihydrogen Monoxide = Sulfuric Acid

Car batteries are made with 28-32% solutions of Sulfuric Acid.

Rain composing of 75% Sulfuric Acid solution would be known as a chamber acid, produced by the lead chamber process, and is fatal to inhale or to ingest, it would also corrode skin on contact.

The other component, HNO3, or Nitric Acid will burn exposed skin, even at 25%

This makes your argument extremely implausible.
