So tell us Teddy, why are liberals like yourself allowed to advocate for affirmative action? You say white men should be denied jobs just because they're white men. There is your hate speech.

Analysis | ‘Hate speech is not protected by the First Amendment,’ Portland mayor says. He’s wrong.

May 30 2017 As his city mourns two men who were killed after confronting a man screaming anti-Muslim slurs, Mayor Ted Wheeler is calling on federal officials to block what he called “alt-right demonstrations” from happening in downtown Portland, Ore.

His concern is that the two rallies, both scheduled in June, will escalate an already volatile situation in Portland by peddling “a message of hatred and of bigotry.” Although the organizers of the rallies have a constitutional right to speak, “hate speech is not protected by the First Amendment,” Wheeler told reporters.

But history and precedent are not on Wheeler's side.

Will there be a warrant out for her arrest by the mayor?

The First Amendment has been around for a lot longer than any stupid, nonsensical, patronizing, non-existent "hate speech" laws -- which are not laws but merely ideas that pretend to be for the benefit of anyone who is submissive enough to pay attention to them.

People like this nerdy individual, Ted Wheeler, are dangerous.

Words are one thing, but that Kathy Griffin girl went as far as providing a visual aid to go with her statement which in my opinion can only make a person wonder how much farther she may have it in her to go.

God bless you always!!!

I've been watching this story locally here, and it's amazing that a mayor of a large city believes 'hate speech' is illegal.

Hate speech isn't if it's dangerous like yelling 'fire' in a crowed theater, but this does not rise to the level of "hate speech"

All liberals are like that. Of course, they make an exception when the hate speech is directed against whites as when chris matthews and bill maher call white people "crackers" on national tv. That's ok with them.

>>The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) states that "any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law".[14] The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) prohibits all incitement of racism.[15] On 3 May 2011, Michael O'Flaherty with the United Nations Human Rights Committee published Draft General Comment No. 34 on the ICCPR, which among other comments expressed concern that many forms of "hate speech" do not meet the level of seriousness set out in Article 20. This paragraph does not appear in the final document.[16] Concerning the debate over how freedom of speech applies to the Internet, conferences concerning such sites have been sponsored by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.[17]<<

>>Some limits on expression were contemplated by the framers and have been defined by the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). In 1942, Justice Frank Murphy summarized the case law: "There are certain well-defined and limited classes of speech, the prevention and punishment of which have never been thought to raise a Constitutional problem. These include the lewd and obscene, the profane, the libelous and the insulting or 'fighting' words – those which by their very utterances inflict injury or tend to incite an immediate breach of the peace."[85]<<

If the Mayor of Portland, OR. can't comprehend that ALL SPEECH no matter how 'offensive' it may be IS PROTECTED by the First Amendment, then he shouldn't be in a position of political power.

While Griffin has broken no laws the First Amendment does not protect her from her employer's disapproval of her offensive expression.

Teddy's policy on free speech - I oppose censorship unless there's a good reason for it.

and the problem of course is everything is hate speech to libs.......I disagree........YOU HATER!!!!!!!!!!!
