President's Michigan Rally

The audience is primarily Trump oriented yet the audience is only slightly affirmative for Trump: meaning trouble for him politically.

"The effectiveness of this kind of [alt right, neo-fascist] propaganda demonstrates one of the chief characteristics of modern masses. They do not believe in anything visible, in the reality of their own experience; they do not trust their eyes and ears but only their imaginations, which may be caught by anything that is at once universal and consistent in itself. What convinces masses are not facts, and not even invented facts, but only the consistency of the system of which they are presumably part. Repetition, somewhat overrated in importance because of the common belief in the masses' inferior capacity grasp and remember, is important only because it convinces them of consistency in time." --Hannah Arendt, "The Origins of Totalitarianism"
You don't know shit about this audience.

I would have loved to see if he mentioned the flooding that affected me.
He did mention millions of federal dollars being sent to a place that was devastated by the failure of a private dam. I think it was Midland. Is that your location?
Yeah, it was a private dam, but most folks don't really understand the story of Boyce hydro and how they got put into that position. They were dumb to buy that property in the first place, bad business decision. With the state and environmental regs.? The county should have bought the dam. . .

. . . and then once liberals were elected to the administrative branch of the State government? Oh boy, it was like throwing gas onto a fire. Kind of like when conservatives were elected to the administrative branch of the state government only made the managers of Flint looking the other way on the lax oversight of the EPA on the water -- a mess. . . but there again. . . no one is to blame if they all share blame, right? :dunno:

It was all political. The state and politicians want to blame the company, the company wants to blame the state, and frankly, they are both at fault. With out tons of lawyers. . . guess who will lose? Right, the citizens. And in the end, the only real winners will be the lawyers.

I'm not really sure why it is the responsibility of a private company to take a loss on a capital improvement, that, b/c of politicians, will only be doomed to lose money. It is a dumb idea to privatize something like a community resource that everyone in the county depends on in the first place.

From wikipedia, "Right Side Broadcasting Network, also known as Right Side Broadcasting, is a conservative American news and opinion media company founded by Joe Seales. It is best known for its Donald Trump rally live streams on YouTube." They have become proficient in projecting false streaming.

GAH Who let you back in here?

I have put you in a good place.

Would such a place be in that vacuous cavern you call a head Jake? Mildly amusing to know I still inhabit your dreams.

For any folks that like the philosophy of the founders, i.e. Classical Liberalism, also known as Libertarian, there is a pretty well known think tank in Midland, highly regarded, goes by the name of the Mackinaw Center. It tends to favor Republicans, but criticizes pols from both parties.

There it is, across the street, downtown from that Hotel. As you see, the flood nearly got them.

Here is what they have to say;

How a Mid-Michigan Dam Failed
EGLE and Boyce Hydro actions appear to have compounded the May 2020 flood

The Trump audience is indeed believing in their 'hope' for whatever it is indeed in their muddled collective consciousness that they want.

What the incels and cucks of the Trump right do not get is that life changes and thus we are not going back to their twisted idea of what 1945 to 1975 was like.

The Mackinaw Center is only well thought of by other libertarians who mistakenly think of themselves as classical libertarians, which of course they certainly are not.

Why does every idiot on the left make this stupid argument that the right wants to go back to the 1950’s, or 1850’s, ect?
Who are the ones literally repealing a civil rights law in California? Dems are.
We don’t want to go back to any of those times with racist Democrat laws (slavery, Jim Crow). We want to go forward without socialism, race baiters and their “race theory”, or communists that want to burn the country down.
