Price gouging is good?

I had to read this twice to see that this guy is serious. If he was trying to make a case for Communism or Socialism he couldn`t have done a better job.

Another great link that doesn't actually let you read it unless you reconfigure your computer to suit THEM.

I don't really think manufacturers needed a "heads up" that face masks and other protective equipment were in high demand. It's unconscionable that people do this price gouging in times of desperation, and it's equally unconscionable that people who read about supply/demand economics in high school are ranting on about what a great idea it is.
Amazon did the right thing. Cuomo did, and so did our Secretary of State, who imposed a 15% limit on raising prices on food and necessaries.

It isn't a conditional or future tense; we are and have been immersed in it.

Stossel is merely reminding libs about the law of supply and demand

when there is a shortage the price goes up and suppliers rush to put more product on the market

its a natural mechanism that requires no government involvement

...except perhaps to protect the guilty from being lynched.

You and others here assume that the factories libs want to nationalize or micromanage are in America

people here have forgotten that we are in the grip of globalization now and the US governent cannot tell foreign suppliers how much to charge

Now that you bring it up I wouldnt be surprised if liberal mobs became not just violent but actually murderous

That would mean "globalization" has not gone far enough, so that corporations can no longer play countries off against their borders. We play a double game; national for regulations and taxes, international for stealing wealth from nations.

Wouldn't "liberals" just lie down and take it? That is the impression one gets from how they are described in these threads? Wouldn't it be those who want to conserve their money from being viciously over charged?

I have no idea what that means

a one world government I suspect

in the real world, here and now, America cannot demand that foreign suppliers sell to us at a price we like

Whatever you claim for justification you are still resorting to violence and even murder to get what you want

Whom are you addressing? The quoted post is totally neutral.

But, it can demand that other countries obey embargoes, etc.?
Yeah, the rules are set up so that corporations can profit from using the infrastructure here and hide the gains there. Nice.

To me, if you need to get certain things out of your picture badly enough, you better ask for a fair enough amount of money or you will never be able to get rid of whatever it is that you are trying to get rid of.

God bless you always!!!

Its addressed to any liberals who form a mob and start lynching people

We try to enforce embargoes with mixed success

but wouldnt it be better to ensure vital supplies by encouraging Americans to make the supplies in America instead of china?
