I had to read this twice to see that this guy is serious. If he was trying to make a case for Communism or Socialism he couldn`t have done a better job.

You`ll know it when you become a victim. What is "price gouging" in capitalism?
I don't really think manufacturers needed a "heads up" that face masks and other protective equipment were in high demand. It's unconscionable that people do this price gouging in times of desperation, and it's equally unconscionable that people who read about supply/demand economics in high school are ranting on about what a great idea it is.I had to read this twice to see that this guy is serious. when there is a shortage the price goes up and suppliers rush to put more product on the market
its a natural mechanism that requires no government involvement
You and others here assume that the factories libs want to nationalize or micromanage are in AmericaI don't really think manufacturers needed a "heads up" that face masks and other protective equipment were in high demand. Amazon did the right thing. Cuomo did, and so did our Secretary of State, who imposed a 15% limit on raising prices on food and necessaries.
Now that you bring it up I wouldnt be surprised if liberal mobs became not just violent but actually murderous...except perhaps to protect the guilty from being lynched.Stossel is merely reminding libs about the law of supply and demandI had to read this twice to see that this guy is serious. That would mean "globalization" has not gone far enough, so that corporations can no longer play countries off against their borders. We play a double game; national for regulations and taxes, international for stealing wealth from nations. You and others here assume that the factories libs want to nationalize or micromanage are in AmericaI don't really think manufacturers needed a "heads up" that face masks and other protective equipment were in high demand. people here have forgotten that we are in the grip of globalization now and the US governent cannot tell foreign suppliers how much to charge
Wouldn't "liberals" just lie down and take it? That is the impression one gets from how they are described in these threads? Wouldn't it be those who want to conserve their money from being viciously over charged? Now that you bring it up I wouldnt be surprised if liberal mobs became not just violent but actually murderous...except perhaps to protect the guilty from being lynched.Stossel is merely reminding libs about the law of supply and demandI had to read this twice to see that this guy is serious. Whatever you claim for justification you are still resorting to violence and even murder to get what you wantWouldn't "liberals" just lie down and take it? But, it can demand that other countries obey embargoes, etc.?I have no idea what that meansThat would mean "globalization" has not gone far enough, so that corporations can no longer play countries off against their borders. a one world government I suspect
in the real world, here and now, America cannot demand that foreign suppliers sell to us at a price we like

We try to enforce embargoes with mixed successBut, it can demand that other countries obey embargoes, etc.?I have no idea what that meansThat would mean "globalization" has not gone far enough, so that corporations can no longer play countries off against their borders. Yeah, the rules are set up so that corporations can profit from using the infrastructure here and hide the gains there. Nice.
So when the next pharma brat raises the cost of your child`s life saving drug 5000% it`s okay?Stossel is merely reminding libs about the law of supply and demandI had to read this twice to see that this guy is serious.
