I'm sure Republicans wish they had something like Superdelegates right now.
 
Here's the main problem. Let's say that Trump enters the convention with a 400 delegate lead and 3 million more votes than Cruz, but not enough to clinch it. On the other hand, 60% of Republican voters will have voted for someone else.

might be more clarity if Kasich got out, but he won't. He's looking towards 2020 when the GOP regains some semblance of sanity.

So because Trump isn't a professional politician, he didn't realize that there's work that is done AFTER you win a primary, that work being making sure that delegates appointed in your name are your guys.

Now, if the Establishment really doesn't want Cruz, I don't see how they find someone else to replace him. Cruz might be taken off the board by July if these stories about all the women he has on the side pan out.
