Great, now let's look at what it actually says.

Page 663-664:

Any exercise in government-wide budgeting and reform should review the department with an eye toward consolidation, elimination, or privatization that examines the efficiency, effectiveness, and underlying philosophy of each individual component. • The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)should be dismantled and many of its functions eliminated, sent to other agencies, privatized, or placed under the control of states and territories"

This is not saying that the NOAA should definitely be eliminated. So already we see the Democrats lying about this. Now let's get into some details. From page 674:

"The NWS [National Weather Service] provides data the private companies use and should focus on its data-gathering services. Because private companies rely on these data, the NWS should fully commercialize its forecasting operations."

So the NWS will continue to exist and sell data to the private sector which produces better weather forecasts than the NWS. So you still get weather reports.

"The National Hurricane Center and National Environmental Satellite Service data centers provide important public safety and business functions as well as academic functions, and are used by forecasting agencies and scientists internationally. Data continuity is an important issue in climate science. Data collected by the department should be presented neutrally, without adjustments intended to support any one side in the climate debate."

So these centers don't disappear they simply become depoliticized, as science should be.

"Transfer NOS [National Ocean Service] Survey Functions to the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Geological Survey."

So this is reorganization not elimination.

Streamlining is not the same as eliminating.

Downsizing is not the same as elimination. They want to get rid of waste and politicization; two things that Democrats hate.

So reorganization, not elimination.
