Our laws are secular (you might want to look up "secular" in order to have a greater, deeper understanding of our laws). Biblical laws are not enforced by our system of jurisprudence.

If you want a religious litmus test for our elected leaders, perhaps you might want to consult radical Islam for how to do it.

Here in the US women are not "prevented by their husbands"
from being seen in public. Here in the US, the opt to not be seen in public as they adhere to their religious beliefs. If they did not want to adhere to it and their husbands "forced them", they can seek protection from law enforcement agencies.
Religious freedom is not just the freedom to practice religion...it is also the freedom to not if you wish.
