Again, I don't believe in the govt abusing its power. That alone should answer any question you might have.
If you care to think about it for a moment.
If you think the govt should have the right to relinquish the bill of rights out fear, then get an amendment passed. Then, they will have that power, and we wouldnt be having this conversation.

So if an amendment was passed granting the government to shutdown businesses and supply relief packages to those that need it in such an occasion as this virus, you’d be in favor of it? Just trying to see where your head is at.

Yeah. It's critically important, for sure.

At the same time, though, I can't help but recall ex-New York Fed President Bill Dudley's thought on things a few months ago when he wrote that, “Trump’s re-election arguably presents a threat to the United States’ and global economy, and if the goal of monetary policy is to achieve the best long-term economic outcome, the Fed’s officials should consider how their decisions would affect the political outcome of 2020.”

Trump's actually surrounded by a lot of people who really don't have his best interests in mind. It's in his favor to have appointed Rand Paul to the joint task force to reopen the economy.
