Reckless driving, a misdemeanor, and paying a $200 fine. Back in 1995.

Defenders of the governor have dismissed the offense as not only minor, but very old — something from nearly three decades ago now. They have also pointed out that George W. Bush had a quarter-century old drunken-driving arrest on his record when he ran successfully for president in 2000, and that Representative Tom Emmer, a Republican from Minnesota who serves as the majority whip, was twice arrested on suspicions of driving drunk as a young man.

The irony and complete hypocrisy will not be lost on the voters both campaigns need to win over.

In the past few days, critics of Mr. Walz have peppered social media with posts about the arrest, along with his mug shot and grainy scans of the arresting officer’s affidavit, labeling the politician a criminal who is unfit to serve.

The Prosecutor vs the Convicted felon/sexual predator/rapist a criminal who is unfit to serve

A copy of the hearing transcript reviewed by The New York Times does provide a bit more color about the event and its aftermath, however. In court, the defense lawyer Russell Horford stated that Mr. Walz said that when the state trooper began to follow him, he “thought somebody was chasing him” and accelerated, “fearing that somebody was after him.”

“The faster he went, the faster the state patrol officer went,” Mr. Horford said.

“He felt terrible about this,” Mr. Horford added, noting that Mr. Walz immediately reported the incident to the Alliance High School principal, ceasing all of his extracurricular activities including coaching, and offering to resign from his teaching job — an offer his boss talked him out of.

“He, I think, takes the position that he’s a role model for the students there,” Mr. Horford said. “He let them down. He let himself down.”

It's still a race with The Prosecutor vs the Convicted Felon. This issue from decades ago will go the way of the same issues with others. But for now the Weird MAGA Crowd is all gleeful believing this somehow bring Kamala Harris down to Trump's level -- not the gutter, but the sewer.

DemoKKKrat privilege got his felony DUI arrest bumped down to reckless driving, but we all now know he's a drunk driver.

The problem is her actions as prosecutor hurts her with many. She was the kind of prosecutor the protests were about.

No problem! At least Tim's not a rapist or pedophile or convicted criminal - with several more criminal trials awaiting him.
