Remember when the Democrat party was not run by Socialist Democrats?

I don't even call it a "Party" anymore. It's a Cabal, much like the Borg. They think and do what the collective tells them to think and do. It's no longer a "Party" of free thinkers and individuals but, rather, an army of mindless Orcs.

Indeed I do, and it seems like it wasn't that long ago.

It was back when the news just reported the news and didn't try to tell Americans what to think.
I doubt we, or for that matter any nation EVER had a "press" or information source that endeavored to ONLY publish or otherwise disseminate important information pure to keep the public aware of things and events. It would be nice if there was such a group, who had no biases or desire to manipulate opinions

Well, it used to be at least in the ballpark of the ideal, which is no longer the case at all.

Funny how Republicans always misrepresent JFKs Ask not and MLKs I have dream to represent their twisted agenda
The government is doing the opposite than JFK's speech. MLK's dream is not what we see in the inner cities and other areas and the waste of tens of trillions of dollars for the result achieved.

Do you remember a time when there were brave men in America who would actually fight to defend their Liberty?

JFKs Ask not speech was not a speech against welfare or Social programs for the poor. JFK was establishing the Peace Corps and “Ask not” was a call for public service.
In the same speech, JFK advocated for social programs

Great post.

I read a fantastic editorial yesterday which fits in perfectly with this thread.

The Kennedys are the enduring symbol of a liberalism, and a party, that died in the 1960s. It lives only in the nostalgia of an idealistic generation that’s now far from youthful.

When the baby boomers die, the Kennedy dream, of a Democratic Party that is inclusive yet proud of America’s past rather than ashamed of it, will also be over.

Biden, leader of a party whose liberalism is very different, hides behind the Kennedy dream. RFK Jr. takes that away.

And the bottomless sense of betrayal that animates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is an epitaph for a generation.

Boomer Democrats loved the American dream. But they failed the real America.
