He was right about one thing though, a border tax, which few wanted to support. It would have levelled the playing field with those nations abusing trade and also would have brought in billions a year to help ease the deficit.

Some don't understand that free markets only work when all countries are actually free markets. As it is, America is being exploited by foreign governments, and Ryan and a few others were wise to propose a border tax.

I'm a laissez-faire economist, but this premise only works domestically, as Internationally other nations are interventionalist, socialist and neo-communists, which has a purpose of undermining free markets like America. There needs to be an equalizer, it's offensive that America gives up it's economic superiority, makes no sense to me.
