Only In South Carolina ... - FITSNews
Folks, if Republican ideals are so great, you'd think a state dominated by them would be a utopia. Well, in red state South Carolina- one of Americas most violent states, worst roads, among worst in education, lowest taxes, least regulation, yet- pockets of immense wealth- we are seeing even more consequences of Republican rule:
YOU CANT MAKE THIS STUFF UP:
The GOP here is trying DECRIMINALIZE Ethics violations. You read it right. The GOP controlled state government......rather than, you know, follow the law.......is trying to simpy pass a law that would decriminalize all the laws they are breaking!!! They're trying to make all the ethics laws non-criminal. You can read up on the bill in the link. Among the most shocking is a part of the bill that would make it illegal (get this)......to speak openly about ethics violations in public forums. Yes. You read correctly. They want it to be illegal to openly speak about an ongoing ethics violation in a public forum. Meaning, accidentally or not, if one of them is accused of an ethics violation, YOU and I or the media or a fellow politician would be BANNED from speaking about it. Obviously a 1st amendment violation and wont stand. But hey, only the 2nd amendment is really special.

Tea Party Queen Nikki Haley recently pushed a bill that would ban the state's food stamp users from buying soda or junk food with food stamps. She says taxpayers shouldnt pay for that. Ok. Fair enough. I like healthy lifestyles. BUT.....a SC Democrat (they exist) proposed a bill that would ban HER from using tax money to buy soda and junk food to staff statehouse kitchens and breakrooms, SHE got pissed and call it a partisan game and nonsense!!!!! So..............our tax dollars going to buy a Pepsi for grandma is WRONG. But our tax dollars going to buy a Dunkin Donuts dozen for the Haley staff meeting is OK!!!!!
In fact, when the SC Dems tried, and did, pass this bill that would force the TP Queen Nikki Haley to......well, follow her own advice and not use tax money to buy junkfood, her spokesman accused them of "playing games".
She couldnt talk. She was in Texas, on taxpayer money, doing yet another national appearance while SC roads crumble, schools fail, crime soars. But heck, she just SAYS she is in Texas. Judging by our last governor, she may be in Brazil or Ecuador with an fling on taxpayer money. And heck, SC Republicans will forgive it!!!!!
