Try this out for size. The AVERAGE fast food worker is 29. Most of them are on some sort of government assistance because their wage is too low to live on.

If cons want to eliminate welfare assistance, then they must agree to raise the minimum wage.

Hey guess what happens when poor people spend less money at places like Walt Mart and fast food? They all LOWER the prices. Guess what that means! LESS profit for companies poor people depend on.

Yes raising the minimum wage cuts into profits, but if people have less spending power, they can't do much to empower businesses.

Hey and guess what would happen if we raised the minimum wage: LESS PEOPLE WOULD BE ON WELFARE. Which of course would lower taxes.

Umm. And this is left wing bull.

Just how high should the "minimum" wage go? You defeat the purpose of a "minimum" wage each time you raise it.

Welfare assistance needs to be contingent on (in a lot of cases) a well and able bodied recipient looking for gainful employment to support themselves and their families. Make it work based off of the parolee, parole officer concept. You don't report any job applications for a certain period, you don't get your benefits. No questions asked.

One critical concept you left out. Raising the "minimum" wage will leave employers with less spending power, thus less money to pay employees. The less money they pay their employees, the more of them are on Welfare to make up the difference. This will also have the added effect of killing jobs.

And I also may add..

How on earth does decreasing the amount of people on welfare equate to lowering taxes?

Maybe $9 dollars per hour? Fair??

No. Just stop raising the minimum wage. Period. Too many people asking for so much money, doing nothing to invest it. Nobody likes to save money when they're my age. I was no different and now regret it dearly. Educate people on how to WISELY use their money, perhaps there wouldn't be a need to raise the minimum wage so much.

Yes, let us decide on a number to raise it to. What is economically viable for that? That is a mathematical question. Let economists determine it.

You obviously have no idea how employment benefits works. It IS contingent on finding employment. If you don't send in documented proof to the government that you are actively searching for a job, you are cut off. Why you think it doesn't work that way is sheer ignorance.

That is not true when it would come to corporations like fast food. Big corporations. They can easily afford to employ all positions with higher wages. Profits for corporations are at an all time high despite this economic slump we are in.

There would be less need to increase funding for government assistance. After a while, we can change the policies themselves. Less money being proposed.

Studies today show that most rich people do not invest their money. They hoard it.

Cool!
If people don't invest their money than there is no reason to complain about Cap Gains tax rate, since no one pays it, ammirite?

Show me the study!!

1. Or as I said earlier, stop raising it.

2. You specifically mentioned "welfare" not "employment benefits." You obviously have reading comprehension issues. Please peruse a dictionary at your earliest convenience.

3. It is true, if you're a small business or a startup. You'll soon see that continually raising the minimum wage will kill small businesses, and the jobs with them. Your ignorance of business is not surprising.

Normally, that's what I call "investing." Novice.

That does nothing to refute what i said.

Welfare is government assistance dick. They are both programs financed by taxation.

Which is why raising the mim wage should be contingent on the amount of profit a business makes.

1. Amateur. It does plenty.

2. There's a difference between welfare and employment assistance. Go look it up if you don't believe me. I won't coddle your lazy ass.

3. Which tells me that this contradicts a post you made in this thread saying that Liberals merely wish to "limit" the extremes of poverty and wealth. Looks like you want to shift from wealth to a perpetual state of poverty, because if you work to level the playing field and move away from wealth, you are inevitably moving towards poverty. It is what I dub "the poor won't be poor alone" approach.
