Sheng Shiliang , chief researcher with the Center for Global Challenges Studies, Xinhua News Agency, thinks that getting back on the European path is not the best choice, as Russia is too big and unique for Europe, which is half the size of Russia. Integration with Asia is an even worse alternative because there’s not enough room for Asians there as it is.

With the billions of cubic yards of oil and methane gas that has been discovered in Russia
over the past few years, I think it would be in energy starved Europes best interests to
integrate Russia into the European union. They are already sending Europe millons of barrels of oil every year through a Russia Europe pipeline.!$ Europe needs Russia, Russia also needs Europes Euros.
It will be a win win situation for both regions$?!.
