Oh my goodness. The irony of it. They pay $408K for a shack they can't improve because it has historical significance. A nd we won't even discuss the cost of renting a so-so one bedroom apartment. Because socialists and progressives demand equality for all and hate the commercial side of things. Supply and demand is against everything they believe in. Everybody should share everything in common.

That means to them that everybody who wishing to live in San Francisco should be able to do so in spite of their station in life.

I was assigned to the Presidio of San Francisco twice. Fortunately, I was eligible for and lived in government housing on the base.

But, for many of those of lesser rank, living off base was horridly expensive. For that reason, many commuted from San Rafael or even further north. As I understand it, even the bedroom communities are expensive beyond belief.
