Test scores, academic achievement, community involvement, and all the rest must factor in to the prospective student's admission. No "ties" allowed.

Asians need SAT scores 140 points higher than whites, 270 points higher than Hispanics, and an incredible 450 points higher than blacks (out of 1,600 points) to get into these schools. An Asian applicant with an SAT score of 1,500, that is, has the same chance of being accepted as a white student with a 1,360, a Latino with a 1,230, or an African-American with a 1,050. Among candidates in the highest (1,400–1,600) SAT range, 77 percent of blacks, 48 percent of Hispanics, 40 percent of whites, and only 30 percent of Asians are admitted.

There is nothing about a persons race liar.

Each of the three categories has five sub-indicators that are indexed in calculating each student's adversity score. Neighborhood environment will take into account crime rate, poverty rate, housing values and vacancy rate. Family environment will assess what the median income is of where the student's family is from; whether the student is from a single parent household; the educational level of the parents; and whether English is a second language. High school environment will look at factors such as curriculum rigor, free-lunch rate and AP class opportunities. Together these factors will calculate an individual's adversity score on a scale of one to 100.

According to the Journal, a score of 50 is considered "average." Anything above 50 proves "hardship" while anything below 50 is considered "privilege."

This is how you deal with privilege. And this will even help your poor white kids. Half of white American kids are living in broken homes too you know.

Seems to me that an "adversity score" could be placed in the same category as the recent inflated or "corrected'' SAT scores that parents paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to get their offspring into a posh college with one exception. Appears that no money is changing hands so that makes it legal cheating. How can the public put a stop to this left-wing socialist liberal farce. I am willing to bet that this scheme will wind up in SCOTUS.
I know of many people who grew up in the harshest adverse conditions and became highly educated and successful. Adversity my Aunt Fanny.

After listening to an explanation, student application will be measured against those in their past schools. They won't be measured against any other students. The problem is the same as it has been all along the poorly performing students will not be able to keep up with other students in their class in the course work. If everyone in the high school graduating class reads at a third grade level the fact that a star performer reads at a 5th grade level will not help them no matter how much we wish it so.
