Governor Schwarzenegger's mouth has landed him in trouble with Democrats again.

Schwarzenegger held a news conference in Sacramento Thursday naming former Bay Area congressman and current dean of the Haas School of Business Tom Campbell as the state's new finance director. A reporter asked the governor if he would listen to Democratic leaders about increasing taxes to solve the state deficit.

"Why would I listen to losers?" Schwarzenegger asked. "Let's be honest. Democrats lost every single ballot in the Bay Area."

Schwarzenegger later backtracked from his comment, saying it referred to the idea of raising taxes, not Democrats themselves.

During the budget fight last summer, Schwarzenegger angered Democrats by calling them "girlie men."

that link doesn't work... :/

how Gov. S. addresses California's budget problems. I'm not sure what he's supposed to do--he's boxed in by his own party's hatred of taxation on one side and the need for public services on the other side, along with a slew of voter-based initiatives that require certain spending.

Maybe if S. can figure out how to do it in California, he can teach Bush how to do it for the whole country.

Mariner.

Its not that tough. Lower taxes strengthen the economy and more money comes in. Happens everytime its tried.

Arnold is right though. Why should we listen to the people who lose?
